#JOTW Show me your Luxury Watches!

Thanks @Kaycee2018 and @Catmom! Super helpful. @Catmom yours looks like a perfect size and is gorgeous.

These are the ones I'm considering. I really like the 26mm datejust because it has both the day marker and the numerals on the dial, but again am worried about the 26mm size. The salmon dial is what drew me to these older rolex watches in the first place, so all of them are the same dial color haha.

Any preferences?

This also exists and is 26mm but is likely not practical for daily wear and is very expensive. But lordy those diamonds!

I personally like the second 34mm the best with the first one coming in a close second.

Hi all,
Haven't visited this thread much before, but really want to buy myself a 2nd hand rolex. I don't feel super comfortable doing to the AD given COVID and don't want to waste their time since I'll buy on Chrono 24 as the model I want is an older style not made anymore.

I have a 6.4-6.5 inch wrist (6.5 is loose enough to be comfortable but not too loose) and can't decide on sizes. Any ladies with similar size wrists want to show pics or give opinions on 24 vs 26 vs 31? haha I feel totally lost as all my watches currently are 36mm or bigger (and not luxury brands).

I want something a bit more delicate for this one, but don't own anything under 35mm so have no idea what it would look like on me.

Pretty sure the 24mm will be too small and I can guesstimate what a 34mm looks like from my 35-36mm pieces, but 26 vs 31 I am totally clueless about.

thanks!

Definitely agree on the 31. I think that is just a good medium size. I do think extra large and extra small sizes are trends that come and go, so I feel that a 31-33 would be the max for me in a very expensive watch that I'd want to wear forever.

I think any of the 31s are fine. I sort of favor the oyster bracelet over jubilee unless you want a slightly dressier look. My personal choice for myself would be the one catmom has with the black dial but I'd likely go with the plain bezel instead of the diamond one. But there are two others I am considering.

here is a new one for me...

it is a Tudor pelagos. A diving watch it did a LHD (left hand drive)
42mm diameter
Titanium bracelet.

the colours are very much vintage inspired snd hence why i fell in love with it. I was trying this brand in other models (BB58, steel, black) and tried 2 other versions of pelagos- the blue and the black. They were striking but didn’t do it for me. It was only by chance at the 3rd AD, that I thought I give it another go. I didn’t even know of this LHD. But when I tried it on, it was love at first sight. It was the one!
The date wheel is called a roulette date wheel where the even numbers are in red. There is also a red lettering of the watch name on the dial.

anyway, I am a desk diver so the specs for it being a true diver is a little lost on me... I love this watch for what it looks like.
Hehe.

anyways.... here it is!

Very nice! My hubby has a Tudor Black Bay GMT that he loves.

You should buy one. The watch is going for about 100K in the aftermarket.

Yes, it has been amazing to see how much the Nautilus models have appreciated the last few years!

Maybe you guys would know, since your watches probably have the metal clasp where the sides get pushed in to open it.
How do you deal with an uncomfortable clasp? Making the band looser doesn't help.
(Band is half leather/half fabric with big angular metal clasp)

Sorry for huge pics. I think it might be similar to a deployment clasp.

looks like a pretty crude clasp, I don’t know what to tell you, does it centre underneath the wrist at least, or is it off more to the side, is it the curvature that doesn’t sit right?

I have a similar one on my Omega. It bothered me too until I figured out that it was all the extra band that I had under the clasp. I have small wrists and use the end two holes depending upon the temperature. I had to trim away the excess band and then it was totally comfortable.

No band under the clasp. Yes it sits right on the wrist, it's just bulky and the sides that get pushed in to release the clasp dig into my wrist a bit.
I made the strap looser but somehow it still bothers me.

@Polabowla perhaps put it on and take a picture and show what it is that is bothering?
Maybe you need to cut bits off like catmom?

Sorry for the delay; here is the clasp open; half & fully closed.
The bulky metal part is on the wrist , maybe just needs some moleskin
