So I decided life was too short to compromise and decided to go for the watch I truly wanted, rather than the cheaper (still expensive) model I tried to convince myself would satisfy me. @Snowdrop13 maybe this will enable you to get yours!! I am absolutely in love and can see this being my forever watch.
Two tone YG / steel 31mm Rolex Datejust with fluted bezel, jubilee bracelet and white dial with Roman numerals. Brand new from the Authorized Dealer today after a surprisingly short wait (it was ordered - the last order the AD could place this year, so I lucked out!)

So I had a DJ 31 with batons in steel on my list. It was pretty much my last must have Rolex. Then I randomly showed up at my AD and found this preloved beauty. Originally purchased earlier this year. And already up for sale. This 36 DJ domed bezel jubilee bracelet with batons, and it was below retail. Looks gorgeous and clean and goes with all my jewelry. Not at all too big. Couldn’t believe I got so lucky.
Thank you Rubies! Yes absolutely LUME. That was my absolute must have. I wear my watch to sleep and I am always checking the time. My current Rolex has Roman numerals and it was bugging the crap out of me that I could not see the time and had to keep reaching for my phone. The glowing batons are exactly what I need.Oh my goodness! Another watch that is one of my favorite combos! I love the 36mm on your wrist and the white stick markers just look perfect on the silver dial.
It's a Rolex-fest today.. all beauties!!!
Are the markers "lumes?" Do they glow in the dark?
Thank you! My wrist is a little over 5 inches - say 5 1/4 ? It's definitely small but I think a little bigger than LLJsmom.
Wow.. that is fascinating! I can't believe they both are 36mm. I would have sworn that your DH's watch was a 41. It's such an optical illusion that it looks so much larger than your 36.
It's like that old trick from when we were kids that there was one square with a picture frame around it and one without and the one with the frame looks so much bigger.
I have two 36s (one stainless and one rose gold) and I love the size!
Next one I get I think will be a 31 though. I am hankering for a yellow gold one and while I love the 36mm size in gold it's a bit heavy. Maybe 31 is the best size in that particular watch for me.
I like the thought that it would look like a bracelet! Thanks for the vision of that.
I think I would order the 31mm in yellow gold with a MOP dial and diamond markers.
If price were no object I would add a diamond bezel but I think that it's overpriced for what it is. The fluted bezel is very pretty and shiny so it would do just fine.
The 36mm ones I currently have are the rose gold Day Date with a MOP dial and diamond markers and a stainless Datejust with the Jubilee dial and diamond markers.
I have 4 other smaller ones (one 31 and three 26's) and thankfully 3 truly delightful daughters who are currently wearing them and enjoying them.
You have such beautiful watches. A gold 31 would make a gorgeous addition. I definitely love it with the fluted bezel. The diamond bezel would detract from the classic DJ, in my opinion. And the MOP is stunning. Can’t wait till you receive it.
Oh thanks so much LLJsmom! I agree with you about the diamond bezel.. it's nice to have but doesn't add that much flash for that much cash.
I haven't ordered the watch yet.. just trying to space out new things to enjoy them to the fullest. Maybe in the next few months though..
Btw, your Day Date is so gorgeous. I love being able to look and see exactly what day it is. I would love to have one…someday…. Ok now you have me on the website dream configuring. A everose would be beautiful too. Oh dear…
Thanks again! Yes.. it's definitely fun to have the day of the week but it's another step in setting the time and the date. Most times now if we go away on vacation in a different time zone I don't bother to change the time or day. Too complicated.
Hi Tonks!
I knew that you would include at least one sport model in your photo session and I know that's just your thing!
Oh and that "unicorn" is just SO GORGEOUS!!! I have seen it in person in yellow and white gold.. I actually think I preferred it the white.
The multicolored gemstone markers are truly the icing on the fabulous cake.
Y’all will be shocked to know she picked out a dive watch. (I was thrilled). It’s not a luxury watch (not sure how we are defining those, but I probably wouldn’t define it that way), but it is a fantastic entry level automatic. I’m so excited for her. And also psyched that she chose a sports watch.
