I sort of see that the original diamond has a small chip on the underside of the girdle... Is this why you wish to change it? (I cannot check older threads right now & obviously have no patience to hold off posting until then!)
In any case, the picture does not show me any reason to change the diamond.
I am a sucker for the pearl-diamond pairing: tough & hard, subtle & hardly so, born & made, she & he, etc.
No opinion about pink sapphire. I would take ages to find the right colour to fit a 'white' pearl's!

Yes the stone is chipped and too fragile for a ring anymore. The quotes to recut and reset it were more than it’s worth so I will make it a pendant; for sentimental reasons, I can’t let go of the stone. But the new 6mm oec should fit. No decision yet. Baby steps. Lol
I agree with you about the diamond and pearl aesthetic pairing. I made the mistake to google “Belle Époque pearl diamond” once, and was lost down that rabbit hole for hours - emerged hungry for expensive things!

I think she said her finger size is 4.5 but my memory is fuzzy. Danielle is the reason I found PS. My toi et moi was featured in her Show Me Your Rings blog.

If my google-fu is right, I think it’s this which is more modestly sized than I thought (but still, y’know, a honker overall)

Thank you everyone! The milgrain is still visible on this at the top where the platinum shoulders twist into the head, but it has worn off on the sides. Next time I see my sister, I shall give the ring a good clean & post a better, clearer picture for you. Those diamonds are absolutely captivating, but here they just look gunky & white!

I love all these toi et moi rings! I am really drawn to having one made with a mahenge spinel and an unheated cuprian I have so much so that they live in a single gem jar together. But what is your honest opinions, because they are not even close to the same size. The cuprian is 11x8 and the spinel is 7x5. Thanks for any advice.

these are NOT my rings but I love them. My great grandmother had a number of rings, including a diamond and sapphire (moi et toi) ring. None of the rings have particularly large stones, but I think they are beautiful.
I love both those rings, @partgypsy, but that top ring....oh myyyyy!

@foxinsox - given how much I love green, and that I'm kinda doing a 'greenery' set with my holly band...had I kept the 4ct ACA, I would have given serious thought to doing a moi et toi with it and my new matching tourmaline. Now THAT'S a ring!
