Show me your Pearls!

I love everyone''s pearls!

Here''s the one piece I have photographed right now. It''s a very early 20th century brooch/pendant. It was given to my great-grandmother by her uncle when she was a young woman. My grandmother got it when she was 16, and she passed it along to my mother when she turned 16. My mother made me wait until I was 21 to get it. I usually wear it as a pendant.

I have a couple of strands that are pretty, though not especially fine. I''d say I wear them 2-3 times a week. Mostly a 16" strand together with a doubled 36" strand. My favorite necklace is a 36" strand of freshwater baroques, but I need to get them restrung. I have couple of pair of earrings, but I don''t wear them very often.

I want to get more, more more! Baroques are my very very favorite.

Aw. You''re so sweet! Thank you! I actually don''t wear my pearlls that often, LOL! I find myself wearing little studs with my short short hair, as opposed to my dangles. They look odd with no hair! I may try them again though. I''ll take some comical pics of danglies with my ''do this weekend if I get a chance. Need to dye the hair first!

Yay--more pics! Yanno, I hardly ever wear my pearls!

I really should more often. I like to take them out and play with them more than I like to wear them--weirdo!

I hate to say it, but I am the same way, particularly with my white pearls which I perceive to be more dressy. I do have a couple of Tahitian pendants that I wear often, though.

haha! Me too--especially the white pearls. I'm trying to find more ways to make the white rope casual. I once wore it with jeans, cashmere tank top, and cute jacket--really loved that look. I like to wear that rope long or doubled.

Single pendants definitely seem more wearable. It feels like such a commitment to don a whole strand!

Earrings are always easy!

Coati, I keep coming back to stare at your Tahitian strand. OMG they are gorgeous.

I feel the same way! For some reason, I can''t see myself in a big honking stand of pearls, no matter how much I love the look on others!

White Orchid - Your hubby has good taste!

Clio - that is a beautiful treasure!!!

I''m so glad we''ve got a place to show off our pearls now! Everyone''s are so beautiful. Coati, your strands are gorgeous!

I love this thread! Pearls are one of my fav''s. Two years ago, my BF bought me a set from T&Co. Granted, the strand is petite and they are freshwater, but I love them. Due to its size, I can wear them to work without looking overly dressy and seem to round out an outfit so well. I will probably wear them if I ever get married.

My 8mm gem grades....

20" strand

ivory overtone

I wear them almost every day.

Peach FW baroques. Some are up to about 14 mm wide and 19mm long. 36" strand. I LOVE them!

I''ll make it a goal to do that when the Tahitian studs come! I do love a long strand. I have a 30" strand that we got years ago, but I don''t like the quality and want to replace it with a Freshadama instead. I do like the long strands with some casual clothes.
