I am working on a reset of my e-ring which is currently platinum pave' but talking with my jeweler he really feels for this new reset I should go with white gold (he also works with platinum, so that is not the reason why). I don't know much about metal but I guess he feels it will hold up better with how I wear my rings... so with that said I see a ton of Platinum pave' but don't recall seeing rings that are white gold with pave. Would love to see yours please... Thank you! :wavey:

My e- ring is tacori 18k white gold. I chose white gold because the scratches won't be so obvious overtime. I would go crazy if I have a plat and can see the scratches all the time. I have a 14k RHR and have been wearing it for like 10 years. I never take it off. You still can't see scratches on it unless you look really hard. However, when I compare that ring with my e-ring, I can tell my RHR is kinda yellow. It's normal for white gold to turn yellow overtime. I never realized it looks yellow until i compare it next to my e-ring. I heard you gonna redip it or something for white gold.

White gold is dipped in rhodium. The rhodium is what gives white gold its shiny, white appearance.

I believe Yessie has an undipped white gold ring. It's beautiful but that metal naturally has a yellow tinge to it, which can become visible with wear, age, body or skin chemistry, etc. Sometimes, it takes a long time for people to wear out the rhodium, sometimes, it's not that long at all.

However, although I've never done it, I understand rhodium replating is a relatively simple procedure. Bring your jewelry to a capable jeweler. He or she'll polish your ring and redip it.

Somewhere in the jewelry section as well, I believe someone dipped their yellow gold tennis bracelet in rhodium... The results - very nice. I wonder how it's doing now.

Beezygal, your ring is beautiful. I have always loved Tacori settings. My mom's wedding set is 18k gold that she has had 29 years and when I was having problems with wear on another ring I took a look at my mom'r ring to compare and it was perfect. Hardly any scratches for being 29 years old. Than you for sharing..

Wow, it's pretty unique for an ERing. Mostly everyone is very traditional with a "white" diamond and simple setting (comparatively). I LOVE THIS RING! It makes me wonder what kind of Yellow diamond ring I could have gotten with my budget :naughty:
