Lol, I''m embarassed, all you guys are so nice ! I don''t want to hijack this thread, but I would like to say thanks !

Thankyou gemgirl - at the end of my thread on the band, OObiecoo has listed an ebay seller who does antique band repros - they are surprisingly pretty and cheap. You may be interested?

Hey NEU, thankyou honey! There are a couple pics of them together in my thread about the band. You''ve got it spot on with who made them

Awww..missgotrocks, that is too kind of you to say, thankyou!

Thankyou very much crickett and redheadma

Not to hijack, but yes AJ, I love antique looking jewelry. I''m going to go back and read through your thread.
Hey gemgirl, yes do check it out. I have also posted some links earlier in the thread to similiar bands, and seeing as so many ladies have shown interest, I will continue to post any cool deals that I come across in a similiar style.

Hi, here is my 18k yellow gold solitaire with a 14k yellow and white band.
DandiAndi has given some cool links to YG threads, there are plenty of us that love it!
AJ, I LOVE your new wedding band! I wish we could find them somewhere, but I know it was a rare find.
Not too hard to find gemgirl..there are a few listed on E-bay right now.
Perhaps you'd be kind enough to share then Beau, for the sake of gemgirl and others that have expressed interest? I have looked, but musn't be looking in the same places as you..
I'm sure we DON'T look in the same places (or you would have found my lovely 5 stone ring..tee-hee). A couple auctions I seen ended (one which I purchased)

This one, the vendor agreed to sell to me for $175 shipping included..and he can get it in any size. I thought is was a well made looking ring, at an exceptional price! The yellow gold is cheaper too! I thought about buying it, then found another one, for a bit less $!

Josh Rioux, a longtime Pricescope member, surprised me by making up a collage of my solitaire and its jackets. Although the heads are platinum, the bands are yellow gold. When I wear the solitaire alone, one can plainly see the yellow gold band.

Wow! This set is so unique!!

This is the first pic I've taken of my original yellow gold engagement ring. I guess I could of cleaned it, had it buffed before photographing it huh? The diamond is a VS1, F color pear shape. Great dimensions too..nice chunky pear. It weighs approx. .68 carats. It's set in a 5mm wide cathedral setting, with side diamonds. I wore it everyday for 14 years, before receiving my new diamond ring.(as you can see it was well worn, well loved) I had a plain gold band, as well as a diamond band that I wore with it, but since sold. My husband worked all summer, saving up for this ring, which 16 years ago, cost him around $ 3600. (I was thrilled and honoured when he asked me to be his wife)! I often wonder if I should find a similar pear diamond to use a sidestone to create a unique setting for my 1.8 ish diamond (but I think the sidestones might look too large). So..in the meantime, it sits unworn in my jewelry box, perhaps for my son to give to his girlfriend.

Gemgirl''s or mine? Hers is pretty too! Mine was different looking (back in the day). I did receive alot more compliments on my set than I do now with the bigger diamond. Thanks Aprilbaby and Kelli (if you were referring to my little pear..lol)

I like yours too Beau. You''ve got the daughter, I''ve got the mother at 1.51 for the center stone and I''m hoping (fingers crossed) to have the grand dame stone someday. Something like 2.10- 2.25 would be nice.

I love ANY pears, but beau13 I was referring to yours

If you don''t want it I could always use a RHR!

the size of it. Truly beautiful!!!

That would be a nice size Gemgirl (2 carat pear). I have always LOVED the pear shape diamond, and when choosing the diamond for my 14th anniversary, I had to decide between my current round diamond (1.76) and a pear shape (1.5 carat). I sometimes wonder if I should have chosen the pear...lol

Here's mine. 0.98 carat. Yellow gold e-ring with platinum prongs, and a Yellow gold wedding band.

We wanted the illusion of a "twist" in the e-ring and this is the one hubby picked for me. I went with a plain wedding band because I often have to take my diamond off when I work, but I never wanted to take my wedding band off!

I went with yellow gold because it feels more traditional to me, and I guess thats always what I associated with wedding bands growing up!

Thanks April Baby...now that I pulled it out of my jewelry box, I remembered why I love my pear so much too! Maybe in the new year, I will have it reset, and wear it as a RHR (great idea..thanks). Maybe pink diamonds (or sapphires) surrounding it, in a halo style..to represent my boys (both have pink birthstones..lucky guys..lol)

Oh beau, definitely go pink if you can afford to. I saw the most delicious powder pink diamonds, melee size, at my jeweler''s a while ago. He suggested to me to do every third stone a pink to save some money. Two whites and a pink, two whites and a pink. That''s what I was thinking of doing around a tanzanite I have that was never set. I don''t think I''ll ever run out of diamond projects though. That''s why some of my colored stones have been living in their little boxes for YEARS!
