Show us your David Klass bling!

Ha Michele! Shotgun noted but I think it will not be going anywhere! Thank you!!!! I lovvveee your spinel! Gorgeous!

I had my avatar OEC 3 stone ring redone by David to fix some things. He was gracious as always and here she is with new tiny milgrain and bigger shank diamonds.

Wonderful! I love that you added the milgrain! What size are the three main diamonds?

Thanks DS! They are 1.05 and .40 each sides.

Those are very nice proportions! Makes me want one!!!

Beautiful pieces in this thread!

Redwood66, your ring is stunning! I love the milgraining and the proportions!

Love the changes redwood!! I commented in your other thread but not sure you saw it…your ring was beautiful before, but it looks even more gorgeous now! :appl:

Thank you so much JB and kalomeli!!

Does anyone know if he is back working. I talked to him a couple weeks ago and he said he would be back last week but they are not answering the phone.

He emailed me yesterday, he was really sweet but seemed absolutely swamped. I think all of us have been eagerly awaiting his return and all jumped at once  His email is on his Facebook, give that a try?

i emailed him 11 days ago and no word yet. was starting to feel a bit ignored but now i will cut him some slack and wait it out :P

I think since he is no longer "out casted" (for lack of a better term) on PS, his projects have probably picked up signifcantly.

Why was he out casted?

A couple people asked him to make rings that were replicas (sometimes with modifications) of other designers. It is a grey area, but many people have Leon-style rings made. Also, the Single Stone-replica ring that he made he actually went and spoke to the people at SS about, which in my mind is very considerate. I think he makes amazing and unique pieces, like the ruby ring, but people often request replica-esque rings. I suppose it is up to the jeweler to find a balance?

He was traveling internationally until around the 20th of this month. I imagine he's just trying to get caught up at this point.

David has been doing some work for me.

I bought the french cut band from LT last month and we had some discussion in the PS Vintage forum about rehabbing. After EricaD made a really great suggestion I decided to go ahead since it needed to be sized and checked anyway. It turned out so gorgeous!
David has an antique specialist and using a microscope found traces of mil grain along with the original wheat pattern. They did not disturb any of the original 1917 date or initial inscriptions. Can't wait to get it home and I will take more pics when it arrives. So glad I went ahead and made it like it was when new.

EricaD's comments were very helpful in making my decision:

I highly recommend rehabbing it! Antique pieces are meant to be worn, but the old gals need a nip and tuck every now and again, to be restored to their former glory. We save them so that we can wear them again and again, and pass them from generation to generation - touching it up won't take away from that.

I do think that it depends on who wore the ring before, too. If it belonged to my grandmother, and the wear shown is from her wear, and tells her story, then I'd leave it alone out of sentimentality. If I purchased it, I would rehab it so that I can wear it down with my own life story, to one day pass along to a loved one. Hope that makes sense?

Platinum and french cut diamonds approx. .60ctw.

WOW  That turned so great. It looks brand new. I'm so glad it turned out well.

You have the best collection Red, that is gorgeous!   I wanted to let the other ladies know I spoke to David and I mentioned that I think he missed a few emails. He felt so terrible and said if he didn't reply please email him again, he was worried that the email went to spam or he forgot it in the rush of things.

Redwood that look spectacular.

Redwood, I agree, spectacular is the word that comes to mind!   I honestly would have been afraid to buy that ring because I would have wanted better condition. But now that we know someone who will do the rehab well, I am thrilled!!! :appl:

Amazing rehab work Redwood!! Glad that beautiful ring could be restored to its former glory and enjoy being worn for many more years to come.

Thank you all! I am very happy with how it turned out. It seems to me that the stones are sitting much better in the channel now too. When I first bought the ring and it arrived at home there was a spot at the back were it had been cut to size it. I am pretty sure it was sized down which looks to me like it got the stones all wonky in the channel. Now they look to be sitting flush. He overnighted it and it should be delivered today! :appl:

I seriously am not stalking this, but can't wait to see after shots. I contacted him today about rehabbing the botched prongs on my ering and making me either a 2mm engraved band to go with my 5stone FC band or just go big and do a 4mm to alternate on RH. I hope you don't mind me sending a pic of your band. He was super quick to respond each time (like within 30 min) I emailed him and had a quote the same day. So hopefully he has gotten caught up? He was very helpful.

Yay vinjewels! I hope you work something out with him. I think a 2mm band next to your FC would look great! My rose gold engraved band is 3.5mm and I wear it with a thin round shank solitaire and also with the engraved rose gold and pink diamond band. And absolutely you can send any of my pics you would like! I am flattered.

More pics as requested. :) I cannot believe how sparkly these stones are now! David said this was a great deal for the band because finding french cuts that are still in good shape at almost 100 years old is hard to do.

redwood I'm really mesmerized by how well the rehab went! Are you willing to share a general range of how much it cost him to redo the engraving and add the milgrain? Or do you have a LT link that I can reach out to you at to share this info? :wavey:

thanks :wavey:

WOW redwood66, your french cut diamond band turned out absolutely amazing!!  I sent you a message on LT as well (hope this was okay to do)... :))

I have way too many projects for one person...

David made my Barbara inspired pendant and I should have listened to many PSers who had issues with the pendant flipping upside down on them. Well I didn't and it did - ALL THE TIME! So after a remake into a new design chosen by customers I love it and cannot wait to have it in my hands.

My 10 year anni diamond .5ctw reset into 14k rose gold custom pendant with two pink diamonds.
