Show us your food!

Having a small get together to actually celebrate our sons birthday, we will be grilling burgers and making coney dogs, pairing it with homemade cheesy potatoes and various snacks, he is a big fan of the boxed jello cheesecake so just finished that and yeah gonna slap those ridiculously expensive but yummy cherries on it !1481049E-D97A-40DA-91B6-FA43D2420AC8.jpeg

Please tell him Happy Birthday from the strange lady on your board!

Not exactly food, but Easter morning coffee brought to me in bed in my Hunny Bunny mug! I also have the Peep Peep mug, but I only drink one cup a day!

I made eggs benedict for Easter breakfast this morning before Church service, and for dinner I made Pork Loin Wellington with broccoli and cilantro baby potatoes.

It was potato, zucchini, and tofu in some sort of curry. It seemed to me to be an achievement to make food that was that bad:lol:

Back to eating well.=)2

So my Dad's birthday wss in April and usually at Easter Mum would cook a pickled pork because it was his favourite
for some reason pickled pork is really hard to find up here so i had a go at pickling it myself
stunk the house to high heaven on Thursday morning boiling up the pickling liquid
Thank goodness we still have a beer fridge in the laundry

anyway we had it today - Monday instead of Sunday (Monday is a public holiday here)
It didn't taste exactly like a brought one but was tasty and no fat
I served Gary some of the carrot from the slow cooker cooked with the pork

the mashed potato and kumera (sweet potato) had a little too much cream cheese and not enough pesto
Peas & corn with red cabbage

very wintery
But it tasted good

Gary didn't eat all his veg so he will be getting bubble and squeek for breakfast

First camping steak dinner and first of the warmer weather version without a heavy sauce and stir-fried vegetables.

I made the coleslaw, with roast spuds, corn on the cob and pan-fried onions and mushrooms.

The steak was a piece of rib-eye, and the dog had his share.

There is still a chunk to take home to share with the cat and no double the dog too.

This was the breakfast/brunch in the morning, French Toasts with smoked streaky bacon, butter and Maple syrup.

Recently I bought a Zojirushi Breadmaker. We're enjoying fresh bread and bagels. This bread is not touched by human hands in the process at all, the machine is that good!. Just dump in ingredients and push a button. The bagel dough is made in the breadmaker and finished by hand (boil and bake).

I took my kiddos to the beach for a few days over Easter. The first two pictures are from brunch and the last was a really yummy Cajun spiced tofu dish I had for dinner one night. I like cooking but I really missed restaurants over the past two years!

Sticky date pudding and a really delicious chicken laksa I had in the city (pudding home made). One of the perks of dropping my son off to his holiday workshop!
