Gem silica is "quartzified" chrysocolla. Maybe best described as Chrysocolla in Chalcedony. The hardness is exactly the same as Chalcedony and it is as tough to cut. No images as the faceted rocks were sold in the early 90''s.
I am still looking for a good faceting machine right now. The shipping cost from the US or Australia (where most quality machines are built) is huge. Taxes and customs end up to almost 30% and in this weird country I even have to pay 25% taxes on the shipping charge. Depressing...
This has made me think about building my own and the 3D images of parts are almost finished.
