Those of us who love agates were recently discussing how this beautiful stone is under appreciated.
There are some older threads, but I thought I would start a new one, where we could show some of our pieces and loose cabs.
I will start!
I was looking through my collection, and I turns out I have some bangles. They are
getting into current rotation, starting now!
Tagging @Bluegemz to add her beauties, including that new bangle!

Awesome bangles and great thread!! I’m happy to post:) I have a love affair with agates!

Ok, so most of these are reposts due to the low light.

first, blue/lavender chalcedony pieces...
First, these delicate blueish earrings which are very Art Deco/Asian in feel.
Next, my favorite agate piece so far aside from a super wide bangle...
And my grape chalcedony pendant pictured with lavender jadeite ring.

This necklace was made by a jewelry designer friend. It has a lot of lavender agate...I’m sure they are treated, but it’s an awesome necklace worth adding.

Next, the bangles...and the ring which goes with one of them. I’ll try to get another picture of my daughters bangle.

Moss agate and 14k, the stone is translucent with incredible green tendrils and subtle clouds. The stone‘s outward appearance changes according to what‘s inside the locket. It’s a reward I bought for myself upon embarking on a new career - Wanted to wear it every day on trips all over the world; thanks for spoiling that, Covid! Viruses suck!
It looks great layered with my Georgian-inspired diamond necklace - something about the moodiness of it reminds me of Ireland.

Here are some pics with my daughters bangle, the striped Grey one, along with my grey and white pendant. It looks opaque, but is considerably translucent against the light. I just love the drama of agate. These pictures make them look somehow dirtier/more grey than they really are in life.

@Bluegemz
I love that rough necklace, Heavy and solid. You know you're wearing rocks!

The grape chalcedony is yummy! I saw some at the local gem show last October. I was meaning to buy some, but I must have gotten distracted-----easily done at the gem show!!!

That mixed stone necklace is WOW! The green stone--is it tourmaline? Peridot?

@stracci2000 , love the elegance of that slim patterned brown and white bangle especially!

Thanks, @stracci2000 ! It’s true, that one chunky necklace has no holding back Of wildness, which makes it.

re, the other necklace, the greens are glass. She always uses a mic of stones and glass.
I wear this when I want to feel dressed up, bold, and be reminded of an artistic soul. I have another one with rose quartz which I’ll find. I’ll take better pictures when the sun comes out.

I would love to see what you do with some grape chalcedony! I’ve always wanted a cuff bracelet with a size able chunk in the middle.

This is a really fine example of moss agate. These kinds of stones are so amazing. I close look just takes you away to another time and place. It's like there's a whole other universe deep within.

I salvaged this stone from a piece of 1960's costume jewelry.
I loved the beveled oval cut, so I made myself a sterling ring.
It definitely looks like a treeline by a reflective lake.

When I saw your agate bangle in the other thread, I said to myself "Oh I need an agate bangle" Then I realized that I already had two! But they are so interesting and unique, I might get myself another one!

Awesome piece of agate And great job with the ring:).

A friend gave this geode to me.
I don't know where in the world it was found. The inside has smooth nodules, rather than crystals.
It looks like a beautiful hidden grotto.

Absolutely awesome!!!!
Grade AAAAAAAA kicken

I love agate and I have a few vintage bits... don't have any pics at the moment.

This a was a chalcedony pendant I have a few years ago but think I gave it to my niece as I never wore it much, (didn't like the cheap silver setting).

I have this cuff that has what I believe is Crazy Lace Agate as a center stone. It is stamped sterling and has a pictograph hallmark. I wish I knew more about it. I can tell it is made very well. It is perfectly weighted and does not spin at all when being worn. Which is very nice as it is heavy piece.8F2AE84C-D12E-405F-8B0C-CB58D990E9D3.jpeg8004EAEA-DEB0-46E6-8078-5C732866EAE1.jpeg1C92872B-4348-4030-B52E-81975379E3B5.jpeg639F6C95-C36B-4219-A616-DCD93C2917B9.jpeg

Hello everyone! I'm a long time lurker here - finally decided to make an account today haha :D I'm a newbie at gemstones but have always appreciated pretty things :)

Thought I'd share an agate I found in the bargain bin at a local gem show late last year. Wasn't planning on buying anything that day (was just there to look at shiny things and learn) but I kept coming back to check out this one so just took the plunge haha. To me this looks like a big cloud above a field of trees =)2

Apologies for the quality of the photo.
