Show your Antique and Vintage Ring Boxes!

Can't talk about what is in it because of what it is. But this is my grandmother's ring box from her second marriage. So it's at least 35 if not older since I'm not 35 just yet xD When I was first given the engagement and weddings rings in the box I admit it wasn't my favourite box because it didn't look like a mrs box. But it's really grown on me and I really really appreciate it now. So I try to take good care of it so that maybe one day it might make it to be antique xD

This is a lovely box with personal history! Thanks for sharing, I love the velvet, the satin and that beautiful cornflower blue. <3

Two new boxes! Not original to the rings I photographed them with.

First, a Victorian leather ring box with purple velvet and silk. The pics make the leather look black, but its actually a very deep brown with wine/plum color. I think it reads:
CONRAD WINDEL
WATCH MAKER & JEWELLER
5 EXCHANGE BRADFORD

Second, a vintage blue ring box. Made in USA!

The two patents listed on the back were granted in 1938, and expired in 1955. So maybe its from the 40s?? Some time in between those two dates.

I have two more Victorian ring boxes en route, but they're in pretty rough condition so I will likely try to restore them!

I have two. @stracci2000 , one looks similar to the one you have from the 30s, so now I wonder if it's the original - the ring is art deco. The second is the original - It seems that the founding jeweler was born in 1805. 20230731_120446.jpg20230731_120452.jpg20230731_120148.jpg

Love both of these!!

The blue box is SO cool, with the white detailing.

Super pretty brooch too, I love when a piece comes with its original box!

I love them both!
I'm particularly drawn to the plastic one.
The blue color is so dreamy!

This thread is very old, but I am so happy I stumbled across it and hope someone where can help. I inherited my great-grandmother's promise ring. I am curious if the box it came it could possibly be the original or one the ring was just put in for safe keeping at a later date. It's a velvet blue box with a mother of pearl latch. No identifying markers as to the marker or date of production on it. The ring was made 1929-1931. I've provided a few images below.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Oo I like this thread! This is a small antique jewelry box I bought to keep my rings in at night. I love the gorgeous detailing, it’s so whimsical!!

**edited to add that I just realized that this thread is for single ring boxes…but technically this IS a box that holds my rings…oops! :oops2:

Yes, this looks original to the Edwardian Period. My grandmother’s Edwardian Era ring came in a purplish velvet ring box like this. Velvet seems to have been used then. Mother of pearl was used then. Your’s is in beautiful shape, and what a beautiful color, it’s lovely.

Oh My Goodness! Soooo beautiful. Thank you for sharing this beauty!

This came to me with a hodgepodge of vintage costume jewelry from a long deceased aunt, whose home was finally being cleaned out after the death of my cousin (who lived with my aunt/uncle his whole life.). I have no idea the vintage, there are no identifying marks anywhere. The legs are gold colored metal.

This is gorgeous! It looks maybe Art Deco style? Reminds me of the decorative aspects of Art Deco buildings in Chicago or Downtown LA.

Yep, that's what I thought too. I knew when I saw it, that I had to keep it.
