Show your sapphires!

@Mrs_Strizzle , I weep a little every time I look at your avatar ring -- I think it is absolutely perfect! I just inherited a beautiful peach sapphire ring; I will share it when I can get some decent pictures.

While I was anxiously awaiting the arrival of my new sapphire ring, I spent lots of time searching PS looking at everyone else's. I think it would be awesome to have them in one thread! I'll start, here are mine. My 5.89 ct unheated color shifting sapphire in a halo (avatar pic), 3.2 ct heated blue with baguettes, and my 6.47 ct light blue ballerina.

Let's see yours! 20220922_164511.jpg20220803_211707.jpg

Your avatar sapphire is dreamy! That color is to die for. It's magical!

I have a few, all from my Grand Mother. My avatar that I had reset in a new custom setting, an oval sapphire,7 carats set in 18kt gold and silver with diamonds, a small oval set- in platinum with diamonds either Edwardian or Art Deco, an 18 kt.20221001_194440.jpg eternity band, and a small sapphire set in 18kt gold with enamel, pearls and diamonds. These are what I have in ring form. I only wear the avatar and the oval 18kt.The others sit in our safe. I will pass them on to my daughters and Grand Daughters. The small sapphire in platinum is smaller than what I love on my hand. The eternity band is very large in diameter and too big for me to wear. The enamel ring is just not my cup of tea. 20221001_202126.jpg20221001_202241.jpg20221001_202303.jpg20221001_202442.jpg20221001_202450.jpg20221001_193933 (1).jpg

Sooooo beautiful! I am all about that enamel one!

Of course, how could I forget the sapphires that I use for my avatar?:

I bought them around 1997 and they were labelled as Montana sapphires, but, to cut a long story short, they are almost certainly from the mines in Kashmir (Soomjam) and probably from the late 19th century. There are some lovely blue crystals in that lot.

This is the ring my dear Dad gave my Mom for their 25th anniversary (35 years ago). She has passed it along to me with some other pieces that I will share in a separate thread...

Oh what beautiful treasures from your grandmother!! I love that gorgeous re-set too!!

I only have the one. Heated, from Sri Lanka and undoubtedly darker than many would prefer, but just perfect for me. Besides, it's a killer in the sun.

Your green/teal sapphire ring has half my heart! The other half belongs to the peach version in this thread. :lol-2:

I don't have it in hand yet, however, it is a pink Sapphire that Jeff White sourced for me during his Tucson trip in 2020 before the pandemic.

He then re-cut it to remove the small window in the original stone. It will be set in a air line/gap cluster with diamonds.

Silky blue with pinkish-red spinel in the shade and in the sun. Sorry for the fuzzies!!!
