I need your opinion on a set of side stones for my Asscher. Trillions or trapezoids? I love both, which makes it so difficult to make the call!

The asscher is 2.2 carats, G, VVS2.

Thanks in advance :twirl:

oh definitely traps.

Traps for me too.

i think the trillions are too small for that stone, i like the proportions of the traps better. Plus, i really think the shape flatter the center stone better as well.

Thank you for your opinions!

Definitely TRAPS!!!!

I'm guessing these side stones are too large?

It really depends on the look you are going for.

:D

I think they dwarf your asscher a bit, I think I like the proportions of the first ones better. But there's no right or wrong here, if you want a bold and blingy look they might work for you!

Yah, too big. The first set you showed was better. and definitely traps... :) Gonna be gorgeous!!

Trillions would be my choice, however, they would be bigger than those featured in the pic in the first post, with the side next to the Asscher slightly shorter than or equal length as the main stone.

DK :))

I like the proportions of the ring with traps.

The issue with large traps you posted most recently is that they are too wide. If they were the same length, but less deep, I actually think they would work fine.

Does anyone use the Golden Mean for determining side stone size? the sides being approx. 1/3 the width of the main stone??
Compositionally, in art, it provides the most pleasing ratio.
