Signet ( JA) buying blue nile.

Totally agree, and most don't know it so thankfully, they are at least generally happy with what they got. Until they find Pricescope!

You are 100% correct! All that stuff sparkles mightily in the store so it is enticing. As we all know, most jewelry wearers are not PSers who gaze at their diamonds daily and study all nuances about them - lol! Bless the hearts of those who put on a ring and go about their daily lives without much thought about it. I envy them sometimes!

So true. And they never clean them either!

But...every kiss begins with Kay.

I know exactly what you mean: my wife and I went into a Kay's a few months ago on a whim to look at LGD studs that she's been hinting at.
1.6ctw, GSI graded, "excellent cut", I-J color, SI1-SI2, 10k WG 4 prong...for $2400!
I held up a piece of paper over them to block out the showroom dazzle lights and create indirect lighting and immediately saw the rings of death clear as day.
Should be criminal.

It should be @DejaWiz as it is robbery! I look at different stores from time to time too just to see what is out there. When I asked the sales person at Kay’s why they were setting diamonds in sterling silver, she launched into a tale about how they could get in anything I wanted in terms of quality. Should have asked why that quality wasn’t in the display cases but it is sort of stupid to ask a question that you already know the answer to - lol!

Oh, and that is the worst for me! Stand in line at a store with ladies and look at all the dirty jewelry they wear. Shameful! Haha!

That's life. Not what I have been working towards but 20 years ago things were worse.

Garry, when are you going to start your own grading lab?
