Silver: My New Light Gray Spinel

Its ironic that we call desaturated stones "grey" and its considered a negative, because its the absence of saturation of hue that we speak of. But then if you seek out pure grey as a color, and find a grey stone, it flashes other colors! So cool. You've been way ahead of the curve, Freke, but I have to say, I think you're making a convert of me. That is a drop dead, knockout of a stone and a beautiful ring that pairs very well with your band. Get 'em while you can, cause when you keep showing us how beautiful they are, there's gonna be a whole trail of us after the elusive grey soon...

A really interesting spinel which Dan M did excellent work for. Definitely moody yet when it goes to work, it is quite a surprise. Yes, I think with it being almost colourless coupled with excellent faceting and the diamond cut design, helps it sparkle and show more colours.
You know you want one Chrono... :naughty:

Absolutely beautiful stone! I just LOVE those flashes of neon blue... it almost looks electric. Pair that with the arrows, and it is to die for. Wear it in good health!
Thanks Cherokee! I'm smitten!

Freke the Trendsetter. :cheeky:

I'm going to have to steer clear of your part of the country it seems...you're a naughty monkey!!!!

Gorgeous! I've always been a fan of grey stones. I have a spinel that shifts between purple and a charcoal grey with amazing dispersion. Enjoy it!

O. M. G.
That is one seriously drool-worthy stone.

I'm going to go ogle the photos some more...

I will consider it if it is super duper light gray with precision cutting, that's for sure.

Thanks Jstar! I remember that one. The greys are cool, huh? I think we need a "Show me your Gray stones!" thread. Or maybe "grayscale" or something. That could be cool!

You should! They are fun gems! :appl: :appl: :appl:

I've always gone for 'in yer face' colors, but oh boy those gray spinels are so cool. I think this may be the start of a new trend.

I really shouldn't post them. Then no one will know about them and I can HAVE THEM ALL!!!!
