Singing the Blues

@missy what a great thread! I love blues and your blue collection is amazing. Every single piece is so glamorous, yet super wearable: royal refinement.

Here are my blues:

Acinom, you have one of my favorite jewelry collections ever. And these additions are no exception. Gorgeous!:love::love:

Love that antique three stone, Pinto!

And acinom- your blues are amazing! Have always admired your collection.

I bought a piece of blue costume jewelry just to see if I might want to go down the sapphire road....I think I’m in love!!!:love::love:

:kiss2: beautiful blue collections ladies!

Sooo many bluetiful pieces on this thread! I could be here forever...a few of my friends and I have an inside saying....the opposite of having the blues is to be so blue! Lol we literally ask if everything is blue instead of if everything is ok. So I totally get what youre saying about blue stones.

I don't own the attached but I've seen it I person at auction and almost jumped on it...til I was outbid...by a lot!2eac4983a6ca02e4d09d7378f4eb1f20.jpg.cf.jpg

My friend’s lovely aqua and diamond ring. She has a blinglicious collection.

Some sterling silver earrings I have that are blue or green or purple depending on its mood. And some red peeking through at times.

While I was looking for my turquoise pieces to share in the turquoise thread I found a few more blue pieces.

Fred wearing my butterfly necklace. He wears it well.

But refuses to wear it around his neck. He is such a rebel. Maybe he'll start a new trend wearing it on the hip.:cheeky:

And a sweet pair of white gold opal earrings.

and lastly white gold blue topaz and diamond earrings.

I love the way blues draw one into the color, as if one loses oneself in something larger than oneself. I think of storms, sky, water, deep space and dreams. Though I have ventured into loving gems in many colores, blues are always my first love.
Here are some of my favs....more to come....

LOVELY sapphire ring!!=)

I remember the bangle and beads and I remember the gorgeous blue bracelet... but where o where did the unusual ring pop up from?? Methinks your jewelry box is bottomless.

The all yellow and white gold thumb ring I bought in Lucca, Italy. I lived there for a few years and discovered it in a small, jewelry store where the jeweler hand made all of the jewelry.

The gold boa snake ring was hand made by a sculptor/jeweler. Love him for his simplified abstracted, animal forms made with substantial amounts of metal. No hollowness in his work. The stone is ‘Vonsen’s Blue’ nephrite jade from Petaluma, California. It’s a rare kind of nephrite...but what is so special to me about it is that my husband found it as a pebble on a beach near Point Reyes. Verified it with Allan, and was carved into cabochon by Dana at Mastercut. Wanted the snake swirling around the diamond and the stone, moving forward and up. Since the Diamond came from one of the first things my husband gave me, I wanted the ring to be like a progression in time, open to future.

That’s a really nice piece of Big Sur jade. I love that blueish color and texture which is like a gel.

I know, I know it’s soft but it’s so difficult to beat the vivid, neon, electric blue of apatite and it’s affordable, anyway . :) I got a very nice pair for earrings that i plan to set in 18k gold to match my indicolite and apatite bead necklace. The apatites are in calibrated sizes so if in the future it breaks or whatever I can reuse the setting easily.

What beautiful shades of blue! The colors are poetic in the richness, mystery and vibrancy all at once.

I'm adding my wedding necklace here. It was my something blue but it isn't good quality as I didn't know much about sapphires all those pre PS years ago. But the man I married is the highest quality and that's what counts.:halo:

So for the sake of the blue thread here's my blue sapphire wedding necklace...my something "blue" marrying my true blue sweetheart sharing our bluetiful love.
