Small diamond studs - couple questions

YAYYYYYYY!!! I just ordered .3 ctw in 4 prong baskets, wg from Mark at ERD!!!!!!
When we woke up this morning, DH and I realized that Uncle Sam had sent us our stimulus and we felt the need to be good Americans...so DH told me to go make some calls and decide on which studs I wanted since he knew I'd been sitting on pins and needles for weeks. I called Mark at ERD first and he was really personable, answered all my questions, explained that he hand selects the diamonds, and that they aren't ideal cut but are very well cut and thought I'd be very pleased with them. They were also the lowest price I found from the PS vendors. DH called Whiteflash (as he'd talked to someone there previously - and the new price on the 1/3s are - are you ready? - $500. Whoa). Then I called Marie at GOG (who I'd e-mailed previously) and got a quote for a 4-prong basket with .26 ctw hearts and arrows for $438. She was also very nice, and although I love the quality of hearts and arrows, I really didn't think that it was worth the extra $ for this ctw. So, DH told me to call Mark at ERD back and place an order, and I did!! Btw, Mark said that it will be increasing before July - they just haven't gotten to the smaller ctws yet. Mark was on his way out the door when I called, but took down all the info, said I'd hear from him early next week and said they'll probably be ready by Wednesday.
The only downside...they're my anniversary gift from DH, so DH and I had to negotiate the viewing terms since they'll be coming early. We decided that I'll get to see them, try them on (just to make sure I'm happy with them, which I'm sure I will be), and then DH gets to hide them until our anniversary/trip in mid-June...and I'm not supposed to look for them or talk him into letting me take peeks that whole time -- that's the part is going to be the hardest, haha.

Mark called me - they''re in the mail!! I''m out of town though and won''t be able to pick them up until Saturday - so expect pics then! Did you see Cinnamon''s post in SMTR? She got the 1/3 bezels and they''re SO pretty. Seriously...it did make me question if I should have gone with bezels instead of 4-prong. With tax/shipping whatever, they were (I think) $283 for the 1/3 ctw- I think the next cheapest I found was Blue Nile, but I much prefer working with a smaller vendor and talking to the person who hand selects the stones, which is why I was so happy to work with ERD.

He didn't...but GOG is at $400 and some (for 1/4 H&A) and WF is at $500 now for 1/3s (they were what...$340?), so I'd imagine it would be a significant change. Seriously...go for it! And if they're too small, you can always return them and wait for the 1/2. I'm really pleased with the size - perfect for every day.
