My SO and I trust each other 110% we have an open and honest relationship where we can talk about anything. While he has given me his passoword for his email to do something with I don't know his passwords for other things and he doesn't know mine. I think for us it's just a privacy thing but if he asked me I would tell him I have nothing to hide. As far as the ring goes I've told him what I like and I trust that he will pick out an amazing ring. I really do love suprises and normally I figure out his suprises 
. Although there was this one time he gave me a necklace for our one year anniversary but that was before we were living together. It should be interesting to see how he plans to pull off buyin the ring and proposal without rousing any suspicion with me.
