MTG: It would fit you too!

Sell some of your goodies-I know you have quite the stash. Perhaps if you include a stone for the VC setting that you have I can help put you closer to your goal :naughty:

SOLD Re: 1.73 ct antique cushion, Leon halo

Ginger, that is a stunning ring and someone with little fingers will be SO lucky to get it!

Just to clarify again, we, as individuals, cannot ship jewelry by FedEx here, period, as they won't insure it. I do not think you can use Fed Ex, as others have said. Vendors have private shipping insurance, so they can ship via FedEx or UPS. If I need to send a stone back to a vendor to be set, I pay for their shipping label, and they email it to me so I can send the item back. FedEx has no idea what it is in the box when I drop it off and they do not see the value. It would be great if you could advertise it before making a trip to the US (or leave it with someone in the US who could ship it to you when it is sold). You can use US post office Registered Mail here and that is safe and insured. If you think your insurance will cover it being shipped to another country, I would ask that specifically and get it in writing from them since the ring would not be in your possession. Otherwise, the gals at JBEG are really nice and perhaps they would let you pay for a shipping label from them since the stone came from them.

A thought: would an appraiser be likely to have a business account with FedEx, and do business accounts with FedEx permit high-value insurance on international shipments of jewellery? (I believe so)
If so, having it shipped internationally to an appraiser might be an option to investigate - and getting an appraisal is likely a PS buyer's first step anyway.

Re: 1.73 ct antique cushion, Leon halo

I will likely be approaching a vendor or appraiser to work as an intermediary, for the ease and assurance of proper insurance coverage. How the ring sells, and where it sells to, will determine which vendor I utilise. :)) I appreciate all of the knowledge and great advice.

There have been a number of people who have contacted me, but no firm buyers at this point.

I'm dropping the price to $10,000 for the ring.
And I'm offering to separate: the center stone alone for $8000, the setting alone for $3000.

Re: 1.73 ct antique cushion, Leon halo

I just received a message via LT, asking if I had received their DB message. I had not. If anyone has messaged me via DB and not heard back, please let me know on here or send again via LT.

Ironic how the reliable service is free, and the glitchy one is the one that charges...

Re: 1.73 ct antique cushion, Leon halo

Ginger, I think using an intermediary is a great idea! I really would encourage you not to separate the diamond and setting. I think it is worth more as a whole.

Seriously! It'd be a shame to separate them!

Sigh..I'd probably have to sell almost all my jewelry to get this, and I'd totally do it if I thought I could, lol.

Re: 1.73 ct antique cushion, Leon halo

Wow, JG, if you had bigger fingers that baby would be mine!!!! I have always loved the Heidy (aka Reena's ring). Even though I didn't go with the halo, I still covet it!!!! Gorgeous!!!

Re: 1.73 ct antique cushion, Leon halo

The ring is reserved, pending inspection and payment. So happy for it to go to a lovely new home, and in one piece.

At this point it has been verbally sold - it is with Grace, but I have not actually received payment yet. It's somewhat in limbo, I guess. Feel free to send me a message if you'd like me to keep you in the loop. :))

Re: 1.73 ct antique cushion, Leon halo
