Hello all,
For your consideration is this 1.25 OEC L VS 6.7mm.
I had bought this center stone in September for a project that didn't work out. Long story short, I'm now considering selling it.
When I purchased it it was sold to me as an L SI2 because it had a chip in the girdle and some of the facets were abraded and it had a few naturals.
SO I sent it to BGD (Brian Gavin Diamonds) and they faceted the girdle which removed the chips and all but one of the naturals and then they polished the remainder of the stone.
The stone is completely clean and now estimated to be VS2 clarity. And since the girdle is now faceted it doesn't need to be set in a bezel, unlike most true antiques. It can be prong set.
It weighs 1.25 carats and 6.7 mm AFTER the recut and was sold to me as an L, which I think is probably accurate. It could be a K or it could be an M though, as I don't have master stones and haven't gotten it appraised formally. It faces up SUPER white, easily looks like an I face up. The stone is a FIRECRACKER though. I opened the package when I got it back after the recut and gasped at how bright and fiery it is. It's a very special stone.
I suck at taking photos so... I have one photo from the original vendor, that shows the chip and the abrasions. One photo from BGD AFTER the recut. And also a ASET based on the Sarin. The Sarin is also BEFORE the recut. I don't have a sarin of it after recut. (Please see the DB listing for the Sarin, shows up too small on PS).
The price is 4,800 OBO. And I am happy to pay shipping within the US. If you are outside the US, please contact me and we can talk about shipping arrangements. All sales are final.
