Hello everyone,

Up for sale is my size 7 yellow gold Van Craeynest setting, style 1034. It previously held an 8.4mm diamond. You can read about it here and see more pics on page 16 of this thread: http://www.pricescope.com/forum/show-me-the-ring/show-me-some-van-craeynest-t79472-450.html.

The DB link is: http://diamondbistro.com/category/196/Rings/listings/25940/RED-YG-Van-Craeynest-setting,-size-7.html

I am asking $2,800 firm for this piece.

Please ask any and all questions! If you're new to VC check out http://www.vancraeynest.com for more info and pics.

Thanks for looking!

Oh, Angeline! Do you have new setting plans???

Re: Yellow Gold Van Craeynest setting for sale

Hi DS!

I've actually had a couple of iterations since the yg VC! I'm not sure I can even remember them all  There was a Kretchmer Omega in there somewhere :o

It's hard to believe but I actually felt that my 2.2 was too large for the circles I'm in and I found myself always self-conscious and often not wearing it. So I sold it to Dave Atlas and bought a beautiful smaller three stone from BGD. Also with all the madness of the diamond obsession my poor husband had always wanted for me to have a three stone so I picked out the diamonds (1.2ct center with .5 ct sides) and then he did all the rest and presented it to me. I am NOT allowed to touch this ring!

Still it's hard to resist diamonds, so I am thinking of an older cut or an AV cushion.

I guess I should do a SMTB for my three stone. I love the BGD diamonds best of all the ones I've had I have to say. It's hard to part with the VC but I find I really am not into colored stones and I don't think I'll ever have a diamond that size again to fit these settings.

So there you go, the last two years in a nutshell!

Cheers, a

Re: Yellow Gold Van Craeynest setting for sale

I think I remember you having concern about size before because you either talked about or did go with a 1.5ish high color stone at some point. I totally understand because I just can't wear a stone that large (2 ct.+) in my real world, either. I had a 1.63 that was 7.6mm and am changing to another diamond just a little smaller at 1.58 and about 7.5mm. Not a big change but I found a great deal! I can't comfortably go any larger in a round.

I think your three stone ring sounds wonderful and it certainly is a classic and a beautiful size! So now, adding something like an AVC sounds like a terrific idea to me! I might could handle a 2 ct. AVC if I could afford it! :naughty:

This yg VC is outstanding with the ruby-sim! Somebody is going to be thrilled to get this setting! It is terrible that you lost the band, though!

(You ought to consider finding an old OEC for this VC setting. It could be lower color since it would be an antique and wouldn't cost as much as a new stone! It would be    )

Re: Yellow Gold Van Craeynest setting for sale

I knew you would understand DS! I felt like a traitor to the PS sisterhood renouncing the 2ct :loopy:

I agree that an OEC in this VC would be gorgeous. Just not sure when that could happen and then I think, well I'll just be back where I started size-wise.

I do hope that someone that loves and appreciates VC for what it is can take this ring. It is hard to part with it alright, more so than the plat one, because of the amazing detail in it. I'm still in two minds now I start talking about it! Hmmmm off to check out JbEG again

NOOOOOOOO! ;(

I am so glad it's not my size, otherwise I'd buy it and wear a setting with no stone in it. I'm such a stark person stylewise, it's so not me but I fell in love with your rings when I first saw them. I hope they go to a great home.

Re: Yellow Gold Van Craeynest setting for sale

Well, I also think a relatively inexpensive stone like a fine color amethyst would look beautiful in it. Garnet, too. Really any colored stone. I know you said you don't care that much about colored stones, but I'd probably make an exception just to be able to keep this ring! At least with a colored stone, you wouldn't be so worried about the bling factor.

Very true DS! I need to visit the CS forum. Part of my attitude to CS is because I just don't know anything about them. It was hard enough learning about diamonds!

Please come over to CS - it would be a pity to let such a gorgeous piece go! The ladies there will be more than pleased to help you find a stunning stone in your budget.

Seriously! Why let that setting go for such a loss? There are many cost effective stones that would look stunning in it!

Re: Yellow Gold Van Craeynest setting for sale

Well thank you all for your offers of help. I might take you up if my other VC doesn't sell, the plat one.

It's too late now for this one however, as the delightful rocks, who is a PS'er, has bought it. She seriously knows her stuff and I am sure will give a loving home to this beautiful setting. Thank you rocks! And we want pics of what you do with it!

Cheers, a
