Somebody's Gotta Buy This Piece!

Is this the same ring?

Sure looks like it! The diamond doesn't look as nice here though.

And omg this band!

That floral band is exactly what I’m looking for but I need a size 10 at least!!! Waaah

aww that's the worst. I hate when perfect stuff is too small :(

Yes very good! You know I like to find diamonds for near scrap value pricing and I’d consider what you paid to be around that! And bonus pretty setting. I hope you love it.

It came today and after authentication, and I'm very happy with it, especially at that price point. Not sure what Ebay could have authenticated except for the weight of the stones and gold content, since there was nothing about clarity or color in the listing. But it's eye clean to me and under a loupe I don't see all that much, but I need to spend more time on it. Color is pretty white. I'm hoping it can be resized and that I can keep this setting because I like it and I don't have a 5 stone ring that is all yellow gold. So I'll take it to the jeweler and see if he can get it down to at least a 6, preferably a 5.75.

Here are a couple of quick (poor) photos that I just took.

And here it is next to my EC which is a GIA G color.

I was just coming onto the forum to ask if you have received this yet. It looks like a winner! What size is it currently? It doesn’t look like a setting that would be complicated to resize.

Gorgeous! The stones look like they are very well cut and the setting is really lovely. I would guess color in the K-M range just based on that one photo, but who knows. EDIT: I consider that to be pretty white for old cuts! They looked nicely matched! Score!

It was listed as a 6.75 but I haven't put it on my mandrel. I'm thinking it should be able to be taken down a size but I can work with a 6 and maybe add some sizing cushions, if I have to. But overall, I really don't think I could recreate this ring at this price, considering the new setting would cost in the neighborhood of at least $1k. I definitely can't complain.

You could be right on color. Here it is next to my GIA K older cut. I think they are pretty close. Another fast photo so excuse the blurs.

A setting like that seems like it would be way more than 1k these days! And this one seems very finely made to boot.

I agree. I was being conservative on the cost. But that's another reason why I'm really hoping they can size it down to fit me (or be close).

I feel like the resize should be possible and worst case the shank might be a teensy bit off round, which wouldn’t bother me. But hopefully it works out! Look forward to updates.

And you have a stunning collection of diamonds, just going off what you have shown in these few posts!

Thank you. I was also thinking that at a minimum they could size it and make it a bit of an oval. That wouldn't bother me either, and probably would help to diminish any spinning, which is a plus. Thank you for all of your comments on this ring, you have a better eye than I do, so the insight is appreciated.

I temper my envy by participating in others’ buys! lol

Ugh, I was just ogling the C&C cuff earlier today. So insanely gorgeous. And the Taj Mahal ring is a fantastic price. Just keep in mind it's final sale.

Yes, the cuff is stunnnnning. It's a good thing it's way too big for my wrist! I don't think I have the gravitas for a large bombe ring and have never tried one on before so it would be risky to do it final sale. Someone else who knows they love them should get it and share a million photos!

Here are more photos of that same ring on an eBay listing: https://www.ebay.com/itm/404362192556

Anyone want a Sholdt setting? Looks like its in pretty good shape. Size 6.5. It isn't listed as Sholdt, I just saw the makers mark. I bet Sholdt would clean it up and set a new gem for a reasonable cost. I'd offer like $500.

I like it but am confused about what stone would go in it. The ad says 7.08x7.95, which is an oval, but my eyes say it's for a round

I'm trying to decide if it just looks a little east-west because of the kind of semi-bezel-ish thing or if it's actually a bit east-west....

@lovedogs I don’t really trust that measurement either. I think it’s for a round and they are just messing up the measurement because of the bezel. But I’d inquire if I was serious. They might know what shape stone they took out of it.

So fun! Just like the giant jungle cat ring earlier, this puppy definitely has someone who has been waiting their whole life for this ring and didn't even know it!
