Somebody's Gotta Buy This Piece!

So pretty for stacking. Lively metal work. 7” tennis bracelet with about 1.25ctnold cuts. Delicate and lovely.

Well this did not pass inspection and I was given a refund. I feel like I have seen where buyers are given an option to move forward with a purchase? I also wasn’t given the reason why it failed inspection, which feels odd.

Apparently you can call ebay to get more details?

Thank you @Dreamer_D The seller said they should get the details shortly and will message me with the info. I appreciate the process but what a let down! I found another bracelet w more ctw but much more expensive and I was looking forward to seeing this one!

That happened to me once as well, I didn't get any notice which I think would be nice, then depending on the issue, you can choose to continue with the purchase or not.

I contacted eBay as I have no patience. The bracelet also tested 950pt (a positive to me) but the “metal is damaged” and there is no ball for the safety closure. I’ll see if the seller provides any more info. I obviously do want it to be secure…

eBay said they were already refunding me, however, I’m hoping the seller will give me the option to repurchase, if I decide the missing ball to the safety clasp is still worth it!

I would think it would be pretty easy for a jeweler to add the ball for the clasp. It's just a little ball of metal.

Yeah for the purchase price I would think some smalll repairs would be ok as long as you are ok with the extension? Curious about the “metal damage”

Yes, I’m worried about the “metal damage”…I’m hoping it’s just maybe some “wear” rather than actual damage. Or possibly that they are qualifying the missing ball or even the added extension as damage/repair? I don’t mind a bit of wear depending on the estimated age of the bracelet, I expect some but the pictures all look lovely!
Where I circled looks like maybe where the ball was so maybe easy to add another like @Lookinagain said!

Call eBay and ask. It’s what I had to do and they told me the reason. But ugh that’s frustrating. I wonder if it was the gold content.

Edit - just saw the other replies. How annoying! eBay should have called you about it instead of an outright rejection.

I was able to move forward with an ebay purchase because a "minor issue" was noted on the authenticity. In this case the 1.6 carat diamond was as described (VS range) but the side diamonds were SI2, not VS. I was given the option to cancel. I hope your find your answer.

Who has a slightly smaller finger? I love these bands and feel like they don't come up for sale very often. If it was a touch bigger I would have a hard time not buying.

Dang, you have some nice detective skills! They have a ton of Tiffany pieces, even their green emerald diamonds band, someone was looking for this… I can’t remember who!

If you happen to come across a thin solid platinum band from the 20’s, *please* tag me. I can do anything from a size 5-6

Yes, it will be added to the side of where you circled, like this, so should be easy

Thin platinum Tiffany band or brand does not matter?

Yes, thank you! I think you are right, it would be a pretty easy fix. The seller contacted me and sent a screenshot from the authenticator on the reasons why it failed; which was less information than I was provided!

I’m likely going to move forward and buy again. Unfortunately, I keep going back to a different bracelet but it’s 6k, it is more ctw but not a ton more and seems a steep price but it’s very lovely. I just really wanted to stay under 5k for a very wearable and lovely old cut bracelet (ideal world- art deco)… lol

Thanks everyone for the advice!

There’s such a huge difference between $700 and $5000. Have you seen anything in that in between price range? I’m concerned there’s too many compromises on this piece. Not so much the damage but the extension. @bee24

If you love Flora and want to upgrade, you NEED TO BE STALKING DOLLYS PAGE TODAY!!!!

She’s got an old mine same size 5.6, same color K, but…. SI1.

If I hadn’t found Flora, I have no doubt I would have bought this stone.

Hopefully someone here grabs it, ITS A BEAUTIFUL STONE!!!!!

Actually scratch that, I * just* found a thin solid platinum Tiffany band from the 1920’s with name and date inscriptions to boot!

Yay glad for you! I need to post pictures of the little white gold band that I bought on ebay from the same seller that I posted the size 7 a while back, it has the most detailed and perfect engraving. Can't wait to see your Tiffany find!

Totally! It’s a big price difference. The one I purchased seemed like it was a good price and I love the details…most I see at a similar ctw with old cuts are in the 2.5-3k range and the 3-4 ctw are in the 5-6k range. Plus at only 1200, I figured that gave me more options for other wish list items. The extension has given me pause, it may not bother me in person…or it may annoy me.
I have not seen many that speak to me in my size and in that middle price range. I would share the 6k one but I don’t want it snatched up sooner than it will be naturally lol.

And Gilded Lane has a 5+ carat OEC. I'm not in the market at that price range, but it's so pretty.

I saw the stories which are expired, but I don’t see a post. Has she not posted ?

Then I’d totally buy it again and if you love it then investing into rehab would still be a good deal… you could fix the bail and consider replacing the extension with little metal squares with engraving that mimic the bracelet. It would be totally worth it if the rest of it is nice!
