Somebody's Gotta Buy This Piece!

It arrived today, and I was fully expecting to return it due to the center being I1-I2. I was already spending the refund in my mind. :wall:

It is gorgeous, dammit!!!! It's so sparkly that the "I' designation is meaningless. I'm in love. :kiss2: So, thanks(?) I think, for finding this baby!

Stunning! Is it a particular designer?

It's beautiful

Is this a new one? Or antique? I can't tell

I’m curious too if anyone knows, please share how to tell new vs true antique.

Bummer it doesn't have a GIA report. I don't trust that it's actually a J, and surprised it got a VS2 with that chunk out of the girdle.

I’m curious about that too. I was wondering if maybe they got the wrong photo.

Omg it's stunning on you!!!

Thank you! It's stamped with "SD" but I can't find the designer. That stamp was used for synthetic diamonds, but this is a fancier font.

Reminds me a little of ivy New York and some Beverly K. It’s a great piece.

That looks beautiful and sparkly! You need to put in the TRR treasures thread!

I have a question on two rose cut diamond eternity rings I found. Not exactly what I want (there but in the price point I want to stick to.

They are exactly the same size, Q and M1/2 translates to 53mm circumference. And almost same width 2.8 versus 2.7mm.

But weight on one is 2.95 grams and one is 1.8 grams.

The heavier is18 carat white gold. The second is 14k white gold.

Does gold affect weight that much? Could there be other factors?

Looks old strictly from the girdle which has flea bites on it. Unless the fakers have mastered that technology too, but old/antique would be my guess. Symmetry not great though, outer faceting not crisp at all, … IMO it’s not typical to have such asymmetry, but it’s possible.

@LightBright Size Q is my size which is 8.25 ish and a M 1/2 is close to a 6.25. Based on the size alone the bigger one should need more gold. And if you're using those sizes I'm guessing the rings weren't made in the US. 14k isn't very common outside the US.
