Specific Gravity of Grade B Jadeite

Generally and don't ask me how exactly scientifically, this sort of opaque mottled material, my jeweller thinks they are softer. Seaglow mentioned it's owing to different mineral compositions. The jewellers just learn from experience and sight.

Ladies, if anyone sees a trio of cylindrical nice green loose cabs, pls let me know. I would like to have a bamboo pendant made in this style. Along with earrings and a brooch (with more than 1 bamboo stalk and some leaves).

Floating flowers would be nice too, if sufficiently translucent.

I don't understand the pricing sometimes. $1060 for these. Wtf. What are you supposed to do with them? plus they have the pink string to help their colour along. I really don't get it!

That pendant is pretty @Burmesedaze but I love the full on carving your jewellers gave you. That one is pretty special imo. It was so bamboo-y natural looking.
 
Wait........she had one where it was just a string of green beads. She said DIY project in the caption. Each bead measuring around 11.5 mm. And she wanted 11, 960 USD or something like that for these beads. I mean, who DIYs for 11K USD? :eek2:

Does anyone else think her prices are higher recently? Either it's the main shopping season or to factor in customers asking for discounts!

Remember the lav photos I posted recently? Think the pinks and greens would have to be toned down too.

Sorry but for a few k or over 10k, I'd spring for a decent cab over beads.

I was looking at it last night. It's rather fat to make into an elegant modern pendant with a diamond bail and bands. I still like it very much though.

Should post a photo of the small bamboo pendants I've collected.

I'm gonna string me some $11K beads!

There are danglies for $3k! Very green but why would anyone blow $3k on beaded danglies?

Or, she has had more customers because we keep recommending her. So with jade, the more you want, the more expensive it becomes, and the higher the demand, the more ridiculous and audacious the pricing. I mean, look at the price of bangles - crazy.

Nope. For real. And have you seen? For her bargain bin page, there are lots more items at 500 USD. or 550 USD now. I no like it.

@ChaiK I look at all the Buddhas now becuase of you! Some have big smiling lips! Haha not something I would have ever noticed before but it's weird the stuff that catches my attention after chatting to you guys!

She's got a cheapie clear Buddha ring that I thought was cute (if I was into Buddhas). Needed a fatter belly though....

See. They are all squat and sturdy bamboo stalks except for the bicolour thin slice. I'd like one with a graduated figure now :)

The one with the red string is not squat!!!! Robust and makes a lot of impact! I think it has the height!

I think there’ll be more in the future hope the price softens after the holiday seasons. Although I think they’ll look cute for Chinese New Year...

It's a bit light in colour. Also opaque.

But the grain isn't shabby. Looks fine. No obvious white patches at least not in the photos.
 
I haven't come across seed pearl settings here but something like this without too many diamonds excl ruby melee around 700? 18k.
