Square emerald v.s. Asscher

May I please know what are the difference between square emerald cut and Asscher cut? Thank you in advance.

Asscher is a brand name, sort of like Frisbee. Square emerald, or modified square emerald is the generic phrase used on some of the lab reports to describe them. This phrase is also used to describe non-Asscher stones as well. A Frisbee is a flying plastic toy but a flying plastic toy isn’t necessarily a Frisbee. Ask your seller what they mean by it if they are using the term, they do not all use it the same way and remarkably few are using it to mean the products of the Asscher company.
