Stack of the day thread

I am a frugal moogul! I like the little "diagonal swirl" band here, but she really needs a re-dip, she looks a bit "grayish"!
I don’t think she does at all...Consider it a mixed metal stack then! They’re big here..I’m trying but I’m a slow mover..

You know, I do mixed metals but I am sort of bummed that my chased flower vintage yellow gold band just doesn't work with my new pear ring. The pear setting is very sleek and modern next to it. I am actually considering having her dipped in rhodium so that she might look good stacked next to the new pear ring. What do you think? It was the band in my first post here in SOTD.

Can you post the photo again! I wouldn’t rhodium plate over yellow gold..I don’t think my 18k white gold ering looks good next to yellow gold..It just doesn’t seem to go but I think it’s the baguettes on the ering that make it look weird next to yellow gold. I keep trying though..

Sure: It's the bottom one

No! Don’t rhodium plate it! I LOVE that one..I think you can wear those bands one at a time with your pear. Wear your diamond band in the middle..It will be so pretty!

Yeah, I guess I should keep her the original color, but I don't like to wear yellow or rose on one hand and then white on the other, I like to mix within a stack though. But she doesn't look good next to the pear, even with another band between them. Like, she's very romantic, swirly flowery and the pear ring is just very modern and sleek. I'll think on it!

Looking to add the new DK cherry blossom ring to my stack in 18k rose gold
Does anyone have that ring? Would love to see it. I just got the rose flower ring in 18k rose gold and love it.

Does two count as a stack?

Just got this 1/2 carat curved band, wouldn't have thought to try a curved band with this ring but it fit perfectly.

It was picking up the blue sky in the first pic.

So pretty! I LOVE your pear...It’s so white and sparkly. One of your photos has a a painting in the background with gorgeous colors. I know you said you are color sensitive so wondered if you paint?

My pear looked so pretty in that spot this morning.

Yes I do paint, that was one of my oil paintings, if it's the one I'm thinking of.

Something simple - 3 identical rings - each made with 3.5 point stones. 18kt yellow, 18kt rose and 18kt white, by DKJ. Ably assisted by my dogs, Cirrus and Ballin.

Oh both the dogs and the rings are wonderful!

Oh my gosh @mrs-b they are gorgeous! Brittanys?

Stack is beautiful too!:kiss2:

Thanks so much, @Bonfire! The lighter, caramel-colored dog with the spotty face is Cirrus - an English setter. He's one year old and my angel dog. He has a lovely nature and is very chill. I named him after the cloud, as he's so gentle and always flying around.

The white dog with red patches is Ballin (said like Allen, but with a B in front). He's an Irish Red and White setter, and is smart, naughty, and wants to cuddle ALL THE TIME. Whenever he's with me, he has to be touching me, and whenever I'm on the computer, he shoves his way up from under my desk, trying to climb onto my lap. This is not easy as, at 10 months of age and not fully grown, he's 55 lbs.

They're both show dogs and we're hoping for great things from them both - especially Cirrus, whose dad was the North American Champion for his breed on more than one occasion, I believe. Together, they're pretty much my darlings. :)

I love the colors and the brush strokes! I had a feeling!

Oh I can't remember, the painting where I show the side view of the pear, that one? I'll take a stack of the day pic soon in front of one, where you can see the whole thing!

Sure! The title is Candy Stripe Roses because the look of it reminded me of Candy Stripers, the gals in nurses training or volunteers who would work at hospitals doing odd jobs, and they wore pinafores that were pink and white stripes. Oil, 10x8 inches It is called impasto, or, palette knife painting, it was all done with a palette knife, no brushes. It's thick paint.....lots of texture.

Where’s the love button! I love your painting! You’re so talented!
I took classes many years ago..and loved it. I would go home and sit at the kitchen table with a tarp on the floor and paint for four hours and it would feel like minutes..I was terrible at it but I loved it..My mom moved in with me and she would critique me and say what I was painting was plain..so I stopped painting..I told my husband I want a room that’s mine with a lock and a window with good light..In the future!

I'm sorry to hear that, never let anyone tell you your artwork is not good enough, no one else could do exactly what you do (or any one of us) because it's art. You should do it again and tell your mom it helps you relax.

Thank you but my mom is pretty much everywhere in my house and I don’t have a place to do it although my house isn’t small..She doesn’t understand boundaries and being 92 she isn’t going to change..We will be moving in a few years to be closer to our son..She will still be living with us but I will have that room with a window and a lock..:P2

Oh, yeah, that's tough. But, later you'll be back at it! That's good to look forward to.

I wanted to post a photo of this, as it's the best stack I'll ever own. My new e-ring and anniversary band, with the new Holly wedder, which arrived yesterday.

And here are the 2 bands, without the 3 stone.

It’s beautiful @mrs-b and your happiness shines through every post. Yay for your dream rings. They’re gorgeous.

Thanks @missy - I truly love them, and they're perfect for me. I knew it as soon as I saw them; something in my head went "Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhh...." (contented sigh).

It was a circuitous route. I bumped around between .18 of ct and 5.36 ct - and I think I hit every category in between. But this is 'THE one' - in exactly the same way that the halo wasn't.

One happy girl here. :)

And following your setting journey and wishing you the very best - settings are a nightmare!
