Ellen where are you? I want to hear how you got on with the makeup

Metro, I wanted to say thanks, I tried misting the makeup with water as you do and it looked even better for it, like part of my own skin, so merci for that!

I always find Nicolette looks really *severe* another word I often use is *harsh* I''ve always had a hard time with her sex-kitten role on desperate housewives. Something about the way they dress her up, it''s like exaggerated feminity without being really feminine. I saw her once on Ellen though in jeans, flats, and a sweater (she was wearing Ellen''s clothes) and I found her to be much more attractive. (I''m not sure if men would agree with me there though

Maisie,
You look gorgeous and so young. I actually prefer the minimal makeup picture; to me, that picture looked younger and fresher! I wish I looked that good, you look like a covergirl model.

Thankyou Chrono - that is such a lovely thing to say. I never feel that I look great so its a surprise that people are saying I look nice. I wish other people would post some photos too - that would be really fab!

N Sheridan was also in the movie The Sure Thing with John Cusack, she was the dream girl on the West Coast...

Well, I tried it this morning without putting my moisturizer on first, just to see what happened. I didn''t use any concealer either.

I must say, I''m rather impressed myself with the coverage. It definitely covered more than one would think, although my expectations were a little higher because of your consumer report. But I did look a little "powdery". I''m going to try it tomorrow with the other stuff and see what happens. But honestly, even if it would fail that test for whatever reason, I''m still gonna buy some for touch ups when out. A definite must buy. Thanks you!

El, it is called Estee Lauder Double Wear powder makeup, I was dubious at first that a powder in a compact could work as a fountation and powder, but it really does, I will stick with it!
I''m writing it down, sounds interesting. And it''s something that can go in the purse for easy touch ups when out. Thank you!

Thats another thing, it touches up superbly well which is important to me if I am out, quick dabbo and you are done and looking spiffy again!

I just wanted to chime in to say that I use the Estee Lauder Double Matte compact powder/foundation too! It works great! I put it on in the morning on top of my moisturizer, and then spray on a mist of water/toner concoction to set my make-up, and presto - flawless skin! LOVE THIS STUFF!

I may have to try this... I don''t normally use cover up, but I''m debating getting some Bare Essentials stuff. Is it light on your face or can you feel it? I hate feeling makeup on my face, which is one reason I never wear any cover up.

It is light as air, I think. I couldn''t feel it at all. Of course I''m used to liquid foundation, so I don''t know if I''m desensitized, but I doubt it. It''s just like powder.

Chiming in as well Maise as a member of your fan club. You look amazing. You look so hip and modern and very London a la the Primrose Hill set without the debauched life styel. LOL

ITA. Think you look even more awesome without the makeup. I can''t believe that you have a 17 years old; you look like you are in your 20''s.

Ellen, the powderiness wears off from it, alternatively try misting it with water, this works well!

PT, it feels so light you don't notice it at all which is another nice thing about it. Also El , play around with it and try it next time after your moisturizer and see which way is best. It took me a little to figure out a good way to wear it, now it looks like me only better~!

Maisie - funny when I saw that picture (the one of you and you *daughter*) I thought you were two friends (kids) in one of those photo booths! Then I read on that you are not a kid - but a mom of 4! w/ a 17 year old.

Whatever you are doing - keep it up!

I have five kids lol.... but I doubt it would be any easier with just 4!! Everytime I turn around there is a child there!! Actually come to think of it - I doubt I could fit my huge behind in one of those photo booths now - I yearn for my teens!!!

Thank you Skippy and Kcoursolle you are very kind!

I wonder if its just me but I don''t feel any older than I did at sixteen...........

Poptart, I use Bare Escentuals myself, and I hate the heavy feeling foundations too. You really don''t feel anything at all on your skin, and it gives even coverage without have to blend or anything like that. The only complaint I have is that with my oily skin, it doesn''t wear as well as I would like.

The Estee Lauder stuff sounds interesting; I think I may look into that as nighttime makeup for bar and club hopping. Sounds like it may be easier to touch up than Bare Escentuals.

Sidenote: just watched SNL with a Carrie Underwood performance on our new 50" plasma t.v.....you could see every individual too-long fake eyelash on both her top lid and bottom, plus her whole face looked completely plastered and powdered! She is such a naturally beautiful young girl, I wish they wouldn''t crap up her face like that. Also she was wearing some crazy little sequined baby doll dress that was about 2 sizes too large for her--she didn''t look comfortable singing in it, and you could tell she was doing minimal movement to make sure her straps didn''t fall down...then when there was a side shot of her on camera you could see her mike box sticking way out of the open back of her dress. It was a total disaster and if I were her I would fire my stylist after watching the tape from this performance! Blech. She really has the looks naturally and doesn''t need to have so much done to her, but someone is really Barbie-izing her and it''s coming off terribly IMO.

A lot of stars are complaining that in HD everything is magnified...so that it is harder to look good! Welcome to the real world!

Yup, as the world starts to really catch on to HD, I think Hollywood and other celebs will have to catch on to the fact that their impurities will be captured and broadcast no matter what. I mean, I don''t care if Carrie U. has blemishes or is dressed somewhat inappropriately, but she and her people need to start realizing that the norm nowadays is that the normal family viewer sees absolutely everything on live t.v. and not just what appears on the sem-glossy pages of US.

I LOVE celebrities! SO not trying to make Carrie out to be a bad guy here.

Well, I didn''t get the results I was expecting. It looked worse with the moisturizer.

For whatever reason, it really magnified my pores, not pretty.

However, like I said, I''m still gonna get some for touch ups, as that worked fine.
