Re: Steven Kirsch +JbEG+ OWD+Yssie= 2.62ctw OEC 3 Stone Good

I love it .. it's so beautiful. I actually think I saw your ring in real life and it's stunning :naughty:

Re: Steven Kirsch +JbEG+ OWD+Yssie= 2.62ctw OEC 3 Stone Good

Ring looks very elegant and refined (superb workmanship). The stones' proportion is excellent.

Re: Steven Kirsch +JbEG+ OWD+Yssie= 2.62ctw OEC 3 Stone Good

I can't wait to see more pictures once you get it! I would also love to see pics with all your goodies.

Re: Steven Kirsch +JbEG+ OWD+Yssie= 2.62ctw OEC 3 Stone Good

Finally got the ring yesterday and was able to take some hands shots yesterday afternoon before the storm rolled in. Sorry the photos are craptastic once again! I wish I could take pretty flower shots. Perhaps I will try tomorrow when I take photos of my rings by OWD, SK, VC and LM for my comparsion thread

Anyhow RL thoughts on the ring. Honestly I really love it! It is comfortable to wear and I just love the OEC in RL. It has more of a creamy vanilla color at all times, as apposed to my antique cushion, which floats around from near colorless to a light yellow at times. The inclusion is practically invisible under a prong. I can't tell unless I really really look HARD for it at about 3 inches away. The appraiser commented that Steven did a great job of hiding it under the prong and by the side diamond so unless you really have a loop you can't see it as it blends so well in.

The only negative I have about the ring is that is the majority of lightening the sides diamonds appear much lighter then the middle OEC. I really wanted a uniformed look with the color, but to me this looks like I have 2 white diamods flanking a FLY most of the time. I'm not a fan of that look at all so in time I might (probably) will switch out the side OEC"s for something even lower in color.

Also the ring is 18k unplated white gold. It definitly has some warm tones to the metal which I ADORE!!! At times it is almost a pinky/ peachy sheen to it- though extremely light. It is hard to explaina nd I will try to get better photos for my comparsion thread to show the color of the metal.

and last one.

I will also add that while I love the setting I might down the road turn this into a 5 stone. I thought the ctw would be enough for a RHR that covers my 6.25 finger but I find I wish it had a bit more finger coverage.

GASP!!! OMG!!! Sarahbear --- stunning beyond belief!!! That is delicious!!

Re: Steven Kirsch +JbEG+ OWD+Yssie= 2.62ctw OEC 3 Stone Good

Oh, it's beautiful!!

A 5 stone would be delicious too, or you could maybe increase the size of the side stones a bit if you want more coverage.

Re: Steven Kirsch +JbEG+ OWD+Yssie= 2.62ctw OEC 3 Stone Good

Oh I love it!!! I am so impressed with the craftsmanship. For some reason I have never really considered SK as one of my favorite designers (even though he's made some gorgeous rings obviously!) but this one puts him on my very short list. I really love it.

And I think the finger coverage is perfection. I love that it doesn't completely cover the top of your finger. The style of the ring is so light and airy and I think it needs just that touch of space to "breathe" and look right.

I could see switching out the side stones someday for either super white sides or a perfect match color wise. Or maybe rubies! But I would keep the size the same because the proportions are so lovely.

Can't wait for your comparison thread!

Re: Steven Kirsch +JbEG+ OWD+Yssie= 2.62ctw OEC 3 Stone Good

Gorgeous ring. I love the color and cut of the center stone. Big, beautiful and blingy.

I see the different color with the side stones. I love contrasts, but I have to say that my first thought was that those sides would be a great home for my still homeless pair of Richard Homer rubies. :))

Thank you for sharing your wonderful projects with us.

Re: Steven Kirsch +JbEG+ OWD+Yssie= 2.62ctw OEC 3 Stone Good

I see what you mean about the sides being whiter than the centre --- but I really think that only a PSer would notice - the general world we all travel in, they probably wouldn't get past the incredible "blinginess" of that gorgeous 3 stone!

Re: Steven Kirsch +JbEG+ OWD+Yssie= 2.62ctw OEC 3 Stone Good

Beautiful  And your photos show it off very well!!

I think the proportions are PERFECT. It's gorgeous on your finger, and I love the tulip-ey shape - the shoulders curving up into an open flower - you'd lose that profile if you went with larger sidestones. And, um, what inclusion? :appl:

I do see what you mean about the colour difference - do the photos represent what you see IRL pretty well, do you think? Fortunately switching out the sidestones is a smaller project, in the grand scheme of things, if you do decide to do that one day ::)

I know EXACTLY what you mean about the metal colour being impossible to pin down. My 15% Cu band is the most difficult - sometimes it's white, sometimes it's yellow, sometimes it's a peachy pinkish... the chameleon quality is one of the things I love most

THanks Laila!! The ring is a 6.25 but I wore it for pictures on my left hand which is just under a size 6 so the proportions are a little off. I think I really like the proportions now so I don't think I will go bigger. I"m not a big fan of the Tiffany's 2:1 ratio which I find to be very contemporary for some reason.

Thanks RB. I think a lot of people don't think of Steven because of Frankie's post. While he is a master at Pave work in that post he just does't come off very well. In my opinion the majority of Psers who have rings by VC are all a version of the emilya for the most part (myself included) so I think Steven just gets looked over. I really like to try new vendors and being that I'm on the east coast Steven was who I went with for this project and I'm thrilled that I did. I'm pretty sure he will be my go-to bench person now for custom work.

I do agree that I like some space as well. It makes the ring look even more delicate. I guess compared to my 2ct with a halo and Venice this ring just looks tiny to me  I know that sounds crazy just typing it!

My dream 3 stone ring would have ruby sides but it would be much more antique in look and feel. I have posted my dream ring before but here it is again. This 3 stone is more for everyday wear so for that reason I think I will stick with diamonds. My dream ring is wayyyyyyyyy down the road

YOU HAVE RICHARD HOMER RUBIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SERIOUSLY DID I MISS THAT THREAD! :cheeky: :cheeky: :cheeky: OH earrings.....

Fly girl- I would contact Adam at OWD. He sourced me the sides for only a few hundred bucks. Way cheaper then any other place. If you need a matched pair he will definitely hunt them down for you.

Hi Yssie-

Yes the 5th picture i posted today shows the color I see the most. While the center stays pretty much the same creamy color all the time, the sides can change in lightening going from looking pretty white to being just a shade off the center. But most of the time it looks like photo 5.

Enerchi!

Thank you! I got your email! I will make sure to have my ring under lock and key so you don't run away with it as the PS gathering. Or perhaps we can switch rings for a little while. I would love to try on your gorgeous 3 stone! ;))

Re: Steven Kirsch +JbEG+ OWD+Yssie= 2.62ctw OEC 3 Stone Good

Sarahbear your ring is gorgeous! I love the setting, SK does wonderful work. I think it's beautiful as it is, but do think ruby sides would be spectacular, the dream ring pic you posted is drool worthy. The gods of bling have smiled upon you :)) Enjoy all of your new goodies :appl:

Re: Steven Kirsch +JbEG+ OWD+Yssie= 2.62ctw OEC 3 Stone Good

AmAZing! Yes, its gorgeous, and now I'm focusing in on the detail. I love the profile shots and the shots of the undercarriage - it looks they way you think a symphony would sound - all individually in unison, harmonious in the way they come together. I know, it may sound corny, but a symphony is the first thing that crossed my mind when I looked at your ring again today.

More hand shots pretty please **imagine batting eyelashes in big eyes here** 8) :saint:

Honestly, I don't get why people wouldn't think of Steven. If they evaluate his work closely, Steven does simply fantastic metal work in addition to his pave. I actually believe that his metal work is even better than his pave. He has a way to make fluid and clean lines. The metal is also well polish and the rings look strong. I have seen him do amazing things in the smallest places and actually seen him innovate on designs. On top of all that, he is super nice and easy to work with ... and we never fully fall off our chairs when we get his quotes.

Anyways, I think this ring is a testimony of what he can do and also dispell that this design cannot be done hand made. He is also now able to make the tapered french cut rings that were so popular. I saw one a few weeks ago and it was fantastic.
