Found this diamond for a great price. Going to purchase soon, but wondering about thoughts on lower half: 75% and star length: 50%. It scored a TIC of 1.3 and fell between both AGS and GIA plots. I read other posts on this, but from what I gathered you need to assess the pavilion and crown angle to judge LGF and I don''t know how to do that.

GIA Specs below:

Date of Issue: September 03, 2008

Round Brilliant

Color Grade: F
Clarity Grade: VS2
Cut Grade: Excellent
Proportions:
Depth: 61.8%
Table: 56%
Crown Angle: 34.5°
Crown Height: 15.5%
Pavilion Angle: 40.8°
Pavilion Depth: 43.0%
Star length: 50%
Lower Half: 75%
Girdle: Medium to Slightly Thick, Faceted
Culet: None
Finish:
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Fluorescence: None

Is the 75% off the gia report? if so it is rounded.

Do you have an IS or ASET image?

I will check back later today as I have to be up in 5 hours and need to get some zzzzzzzzssssss

Yes, it is off a GIA report and no IS or ASET image.

A measured 75 is ok with that angle combination the problem with GIA 75 is it can be between 72.5(to short) and 77.49(just fine)
Can you get a sarin scan with the actual number? an IS or ASET image?

I just emailed my contact for the diamond for the IS or ASET image and will ask for a sarin scan tomorrow morning. What happens if they can't get the requested images. Would you still buy?

Forgot to mention measurements: 6.85-6.80x4.22 Length/Width ratio: 1.01

I know l/w of 1.00 is desired, but is this bad?

Very nice numbers, should be a good looking diamond - Idealscope is always useful.

Well I got an OGI report and it doesn't really match the GIA. I'm a little scared on what the OGI says, but again no expert at reading that report. Any thoughts? Should I rely on the GIA report more than the OGI as the store performed the OGI and their calibrations could be off? I'm nervous.... The GIA specs showed a TIC of 1.3, the OGI shows a TIC of 2.9. The diamond comes in tomorrow.

IS or ASET will answer the questions.

Something is goofy about the ogi scan I agree.

Any opinions on the the OGI? Good, Bad, Ugly? I understand its not the GIA specs, but can someone explain how to read the pictures? White areas mean sparkly white and dark means no sparkle?

Any joy on the IS or ASET yet?
