Hi,
I just noticed this thread. Gorgeous ring, beautiful diamond.
Since I have this set, I did want to point out that my first Ritani e-ring was thinner than the band, noticeably thinner in my opinion. I don't know how many mm it was, but the band was definitely thicker.
When I sent it back to Ritani to due to the prong problems, I specifically requested that they remake the e-ring to be as thick/'wide as the wedding bands.

so, when I got the new ring, it was the same thickness as the wedding bands and it doesn't have the taper towards the center diamond that your friends has. The shank is the same size all around.
When I asked Ken about how they did it, he said they had to squeeze the metal into the mold, whatever that means.

ETA: as for the sizing area, your friend can request that they add diamonds to that area to close it off. I originally had a larger space in mine and they added 4 extra diamonds to each ring (12 total) to make the area smaller. I didn't want them closed off completey with diamonds in case I have to have it resized later on.

oh it gets worse! she wasn't even supposed to tell me the ring arrived (as if) and she wasn't supposed to show ANYONE the ring before her bf saw it tonite...so obviously he didn't know about our planned photo shoot...lol...silly boy!!! AS IF she could hide it from me!

she said she was sure he would confiscate it tonite when he came by...so she figured she'd wear it while she could!!! i remember that feeling of knowing it was JUST A DAY AWAY and the hours couldn't pass fast enough.

i'm so happy that she got an amazing ring and that she is getting engaged to the man she adores!! yay!

Haha oh yes there is still the ENGAGEMENT of course! Most times I get excited about seeing new baubles here it''s easy to forget it''s usually an engagement ring, which means congratulations are in order

I''m sure in the real world that will be considered very, very bad manners

Holy Crap! Love that K! It''s spectacular, so sparkly and icy white!!! Thanks for the fabulous photos. Your girlfriend is a lucky girl!

YAY for K''s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn''t know that WF carried ACA''s in a K color. Was this stone ever posted on the website? Gives me something to think about for the upgrade. LOVE IT!!! Tell your friend, congrats on the beautiful diamond!

jelly, i think that these were the first ACA K's they had. i think they had a few more that came in in 1.7c+ sizes, but i never saw them go up, except for 3hearts 2.50 K VS stone. so maybe they sold right outta the gate! it seemed like slim pickins at the time...my friend originally wanted a J but none came in at the size she wanted, so she considered this K and she is so happy she did! definitely yay for K's! i love that WF is continuing to carry them...it seems they are selling, which is great because i think it means we'll see more. i need me a K pendant!!!

I have a question ... does the ring sit flush ... or does it not becuase of the size or shape of her diamond???

For some reason, I thought that Ritani rings were not supposed to have any gap what so ever.
33.gif

I love the Ritani, the head is very nice ... too bad they don''t get with the program and make that setting with a wider band.
31.gif

Ok ... we''ll be waiting right here for the rest of the

''s and of course the Proposal story!

I love these pics! especially the ones with the rings together.

mara, your friend''s rock is a classic ACA and yours is similiar to the new line ACA. can you see a visual difference between the 2? do they perform differently?

Wow the ring is gorgeous and who would''ve thought it was a K! It looks so white. The pics of the rings together looks so cute. Looks like a few buddys just hanging out. Oh and of course the ring of Mara is to die for

oh and jcrow the band is 1.5mm on the e-ring i think? and the w-ring is like 1.8mm i think? they are sooo thin. but well-made. just so delicate feeling though. i do wish that ritani would get with the program and have a matching w-ring that is 1.5mm too because it kind of visually bugs me that the rings are different sizes. my friend doesn''t mind at all and i guess it''s kind of like my own ring set in that manner.

oh and interesting factoid i did not know, the e-ring is not eternity, there is a tiny sizing band at the bottom, very small, and the w-ring IS eternity, so maybe that accounts for slight width mm difference, extra durability? who knows.

and lol jade, i live in california girl so anytime you come out here, i will gladly take some photos with your beautiful 2.75c-to-be diamond...hehee.
31.gif

that was my next question. i''m one of those matchy matchy types. i too would want the bands the same width. i wonder if you couldl get the w-band to have the diamond-less space too?

you can get both bands to be full eternity, it''s not a problem at all.

Mara! I can't believe thats a K! I'm have been shaking my head in disbelief the whole time I've been reading through this thread. I love, love, love that ritani setting...it was my first e-ring crush. Now I'm thinking maybe I could "lose" my ring, so that I can get a new one.

Also re the thicker band, I did see this ritani on the Pearlmans site the other day, that is a little thicker, but very similar.

I like the Ritani mounting that your girlfriend got but I also like the one Appletini posted. It has a more substantial look. Does that ring come with a band - I don''t know how one would fit with those diamonds running along in front.

Congrats to your friend - you two girls are bad getting into that ring when you weren''t supposed to - too bad I''d have done the same thing!!!

Your friend is very lucky! I love both rings. I also like the look of a delicate band.

OH MY! I am in love

with that ring! I think I''ve checked back on this page like 5 times already this morning to see if there are more pictures...

Definitely sending a pic of this to the fiance as a future upgrade!

Wow! I can''t believe that''s a K! It''s gorgeous!

I love how thin the band is and how the diamond looks HUGE. Congrats to your soon-to-be-engaged friend.

Mara, I need to bring my diamond ring over to your place for a photo shoot!!

Gorgeous!

I love the shots with both rings together. One is so dainty and the other is so substantial & blingry! Both are gorgeous.

I like sturdier settings, too -- only because I bang my rings around so much. I love love love your setting! It looks better and better each time.

Mara, do you know what the widths are of both rings?

Mara-

You take absolutely amazing photographs! Can''t wait to see that big bauble of your in person! :)

I seriously hate you because you take such AMAZING pictures! What is it??? The camera? The angles. I can''t figure it out. Grogeous beautiful ring. I''m sure you had a hand in the choice of that stone

Congrats to your friend on her upcoming engagement!

snlee the e-ring is 1.7 and the wedding band is 1.9 or something very close. both are just under 2mm..

ETA: mara is right..1.5 for the e-ring 1.7-1.8 for the wedding band...yep, pretty dang thin..
