sunkist.. have you looked at the jasmine website? They basically will customize some of their most popular dresses so they are 'temple-ready' I am guessing that is what you are going for..

You can chose your neckline, sleeve length, and choose from lots of different bodice adn skirt styles, so you can basically design your dream dress..

You can play on the website and it iwll give you sketches of what the dress will look like..

Hi Melissa, Ya I have look at that website and the salon I went to the other day in Costa Mesa is supposed to be one of their retailers. I know they say you can put sleeves on any dress. But I'm really nervous about it. I don't want it to look like I sewed sleeves onto a strapless dress. I also tried on strapless gowns with shrugs and jackets over the top, but then again I dont' want it to look like I've modified a strapless dress. There is nothing wrong with simply lining a dress that is otherwise good coverage, but I'm really not wanting to add sleeves. That's what's making this so tough. I really can't spend over $800, and that's pushing it already and I want a stylish dress with sleeves, that has an over all feeling of romantic, soft, lacey, flowy, sexy. You know, what every girl wants... everything!

haha!

I'm thinking right now that I'll go with dress #2 (back on page 1). I found out that they have it in a size 6 so I might not even need any alterations!

Hmmm, also, what do you think about this dress? If you can't tell from the pic, they are satin ribbons that ring around the dress, and the ribbon on the chest is sort of weaved. I like in the photo, but don't know how it would be on.

Thanks so much for all the pictures Ebree! They are all lovely I agree, but I don''t think any of them would work without modifying them even more.

I really like the Jim Hjelm gown that Ebree posted on this page. So classic & pretty.

Awww! Thank you so much Charger, you''re too sweet

To be completely honest, the front looks bulky. You''re slim and can pull anything off...I wouldn''t add what looks like tons of fabric to a smaller frame. I think #2 looks great on you, and if the price is right...I''d go for it!

Thanks Ebree. And besides the price being right, I think the size is right! I made a little mock-up of me with the bouquet I want

Hope I'm not too late, I love #2 on you! You are too cute btw.

i actually like the one you posted with satin ribbons, seems like it could be pretty on the right figure...but #2 is the best option out of the original 3 posted i think. but i''d still try to open up the neck a bit more to cut down on the whole white material thing.

Ok, so I''m still leaning towards the original dress#2. I''m looking for a wrap to wear around me that would soften the look, make it more of a romantic, soft, fall type of a look. Also, I think the slim sheath style and also the beading/ embroidery on it has an Asian look, and that''s cool too cause my fiance is Chinese and I''m incorporating a hint of a Chinese theme into the reception!

This is a wrap I found on ebay, I''m thinking about making a white one like it. Or, I could go for a fancier style with beading on it or just go for a lace wrap. Or, do you think a pashmena would go? I''m thinking it would be fine for wraping up outside if it was cold, but that it wouldn''t really look like it was part of the outfit.

Any wrap experts out there?

oh! and what style of veil would go with this dress?? I''ve been thinking and don''t know at all!

the dress looks like it has lace onit. if it does i would go with a sheer plain white/ivory wrap (whatever color to match your dress) i think lace on lace might be too bust. if there''s no beading/lace on the dress... i think a lace wrap would be lovely. i would go with sheer or lace simply to avoid adding too much "bulk" since the dress has sleeves.

sunkist, I saw this dress in the knot magazine and thought of you. It''s by Romona Keveza

If you really want short sleeves, something like this could be nice to soften it up a bit. This one''s by Lynne Carter.

I don''t think I''d add a wrap--in the picture in my head it''s kind of bulky and looks kind of added-on. You might want to decide on a veil and see how that looks with the dress first. A long-ish veil would give you some extra coverage and soften the overall look.

And btw, I''m way late here, but I think the sleeves are cute. I agree with whoever said it''s kind of a retro-1920''s look, but I think that''s a good thing. I especially love that last dress Robbie posted!

This is so classy and not too revealing!

Those are two very lovely dresses Robbie. Thank you so much for thinking of me!

I''m getting the dress#2, the short-sleeve one I have pictured here several times. I realized again that it was definitely for me when I called one day to see if I could come try it on again, and the girl told me that another girl had it on hold!

But luckily that girl went with another dress and I snatched it up!

(The same thing happened when we were trying to order my ring setting, I hope this doesn''t happen with all my decisions...

Congratulations sunkist! You are going to be a radiant and beautiful bride.

It''s a beautiful dress, and you are going to be a beautiful bride! Have you decided if you''ll be adding a veil?

BTW I agree with Christa on the wrap, at least for the ceremony. Since you''re having a fall wedding it might be nice to have something like that for the reception though.

Yay! Congratulations! You''re going to look beautiful.

Yaaaaaaaay!! I am so happy for you sunkist...I know I am late posting, but that dress is so sweet on you that I was rooting for it - lol I too am looking for a modest dress, and I was going to go to David''s Bridal $99 sale when I was in the States, but decided not too - was afraid I would be disappointed that they would all be sleeveless and shoulderless. Those are very pretty on most brides, but I am a plus size, and so I would not be comfortable. I did tho find my dress patter while I was in the States, and so will be making mine. Unfortumately, since my FI posts here too - giggle - I have to keep that a secret - giggle...someday I will be able to share that with you :}
I am so happy sunkist that you are happy and excited, and sure hope you can get everything you decide on..without having to wait in line :}

congrats sunkist on making a decision!! maybe something more gauzy and light aka a fine crocheted cashmere or similar for the wrap would work, the one you photoshopped on looks more bridesmaid than bride.
