this one is beautiful...it's a Lazaro. the reason i am posting it is because the bodice looks like lined lace and it looks awesome. i would just have the little sleeves lined to match and i think it woud be beautiful, modest but not a stiff white sleeve material, you know?

anyway that was all i found looking around brides.com. you are definitely limited with the sleeves but quite honestly, i would move hell and high water to get something with cuter sleeves than those dresses you posted IF it's something you care about. if not then just ignore me...hehee. i certainly don't mean to push my thoughts onto your dress!! hehee.

i just love cutie sleeves when they are done right and i think you could find something or adapt something to work for you. or think about going custom!!! then you could build your own gown. you aren't limited to just whats in the stores!

Ya, that one is pretty Mara! I''d probably have to put a bit of lace lining across the chest a little ways up. But thanks!

I know! I love that one too! It''s been saved on my computer for months

I have thought about custom. I do only have 10 weeks though.... so I can''t be too picky.

This is a Nicole Miller dress that I liked, though I''m not a huge fan of the fly-away look or the hanging down sleeves. But I was thinking of having something custom made around this idea.

sleevesNMillerLace1.jpg

that's beautiful!!! i love that! and it would be perfect on you, the model is tiny like you with that small bone structure.

i was also going to say you could do something like a strapless super basic sheath gown in a silky material so it clings and then putting something like that lace full length 'coat' over it...kind of what it looks like that gal has on in the picture there...you could line the sleeves or whatever is required and then leave the rest kind of lacy so it looks light. in the nicole miller picture you could cut the sleeves off right where they start to hang and keep the little triangle of skin showing for something fun so it doesn't just crop off straight at the arm.

in terms of custom, i know you only have a bit of time but if it's not TOO complicated, then an experienced seamstress could make you something...i know 'wedding gowns' can get really detailed and be difficult depending on the material that you are using, but if you know what materials would be easier to work with and find someone good, you can get it done. i had a prom dress made to my specs in 4 weeks in high school and it was great. i know it's not the same for a wedding gown but if the idea is simple and doable then you can do it. even getting lace fabric material and fringing the edges could be cute for a wrap or a jacket kind of thing.

oh the one thing i added up above...i certainly don't mean to shove my thoughts onto your dress search...so hopefully i don't seem too pushy. hehee. if so, just tell me to stuff it!

First off, you are adorable!

Of the three dresses you posted, I like the first one, but I prefer the square neckline of the second. I hope you don''t mind, but I photoshopped option one with a square neckline! I wonder if it could be altered (I''m not sure, because of the beading along the neckline)...

And, I think this might be along the lines of what Mara was talking about in her last post (basic strapless silk dress with a lace jacket over it). If you had the jacket lined, as she suggested, it could work! Very pretty! Marisa style 611J:

hehe, Kerbear, I do like what you did with the neck! I''ll take a look at it and see if something like that would be possible. And I really like the second dress you posted! In fact I think it may be the one that I loved while I was dress shopping for my sister a couple months ago! I haven''t been back to try it on, but I really should go. It''s very much my style. So, thanks for reminding me!

Mara, no worries

I''m grateful for your opinion as I am every other girl here on PS! And I can take people opinions for what they are. I''m glad you shared your thoughts, they are helpful!

I should contact a seamstress to ask them, but can a good seamstress make me a dress just by looking at a picture and my measurements?? I''m nervous about trusting them!

I would love to squeeze my little sausage body into this number! LOL! I think it''s so elegant! I''m pretty sure that adding a little sleeve would be easy for almost any seamstress.

Hey Sunkist! I love the dress that you posted on this page! I''m not a big fan of the sleeve styles posted on the first page. I think they need to be lighter. I''m not sure if this would work with your time frame, but Jasmine has a line called Temple Ready. There are a bunch of dresses you pick from and they alter the neckline and add whatever sleeves you want. Here''s the link http://www.jasminebridal.com/html/web2/promotions_templeready.asp

You''re going to be such a beautiful bride!

Hi Sunkist!!

I just love looking at gowns- so I thought I would see what I could pull up for you on the Knot:

http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_detail.jsp?stid=2293&prodgroup=10
http://www.bonny.com/index.php?option=com_staticxt&staticfile=gowns.php?id=327&gline=1&start_page=24&featured=N

There is a whole link on Bonny''s page for modest/conservative- here is one of the dresses:
http://www.bonny.com/index.php?option=com_staticxt&staticfile=gowns.php?id=18&gline=12&start_page=0&featured=N

Maggie Sottero''s line also has some beautiful options:
http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?pageSize=8&page=6&style=J176
this one is 3/4 length sleeves: http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?pageSize=8&page=6&style=J192
http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?pageSize=8&page=13&style=J135

There are a couple in the Princess Demetrio''s collection: http://www.demetriosbride.com/us/index.php?page=collection_princess_06
A gorgeous one in the Sposabella collection: http://www.demetriosbride.com/us/index.php?page=collection_sposabella_06
And a few more in another collection: http://www.demetriosbride.com/us/index.php?page=collection_ilissa_06

Not sure about your budget- but one of my fav. designers is Mia Callaway- her website is www.mcbridal.com. She has beautiful sheaths and jackets to add modesty and beauty to gowns! Here is one of her "non-sheath" gowns:

http://www.mcbridal.com/boutiquegownsproduct61.htm

i LOVE that dress Kerbear!!! That is totally what I had in mind when I was saying a simple sheath with a jacket. Line the jacket and you are golden ! And then you just have more flexibility...if you are able to take off the jacket you can. I also love the sash on that one!! I think sashes are a great modern way to jazz up a simple dress with color most of the time.

Wow! Thanks for all the suggestions Caligal! I will look at more at these after work

Here''s another from Maggie Sottero that might work?

And another (Maggie Sottero''s Felicty):

Oh, this is a fun "project!" Sunkist, you have such a cute little figure, anything you wear will be great!

I prefer the square neckline on you. So many other great dresses the gals posted here too...I doubt I''d be much help since I hate researching wedding dress, but it will be fun to pop in here and see what you end up with!

I''ll be honest. I love the waist, hips, and trains on all of these dresses, and the sleeves are even ok too. However, I am not diggin the high necklines of all of them. Since these dresses are long and have sleeves, you really need to compensate somewhere by showing a little skin (such as a lower neckline) so that you don''t look too matronly. You have a great figure, so you shouldn''t have to look matronly.

I like #2 a lot.. Very pretty.
1 seems too plain

I actually like #3.. it seems the most bridal with the pretty train..

I actually like the long sleeve look better than the short sleeves. It seems the short sleeves visually cut off your arms. I really like the lace dress you posted with the bell sleeves and also the one with the lace over jacket. The temple ready customizing could give you some options to play with...even if you don''t buy through them you can change the options on dresses to see what you might like.

A totally different option that I haven''t seen in a while is a portrait neckline. Here''s my bad attempt at illustrating. Drawing in paint is hard. Basically the collar that goes all the way across you covering shoulders too...so the look of sleeves without truly being sleeves.

portraint.JPG

Or what about something like this?

mc25270m.jpg

see ID that last picture you posted, that would even be pretty if the sleeves were adapted and cut off after the shoulder covering lace...lace wisps could be left to kind of soften up the arm to sleeve transition and then the lace could be lined.

cap sleeves can be super pretty and they don''t have to be lace. it''s just those kind of 1/2 thick cotton looking sleeves that totally cut the arm off. it is kind of amazing that hardly anyone does a cute lined cap sleeve isnt it?!

I tried to find a picture of the collar extending to sleeves. Here's the best I could find. Obviously not the dress, but you can see the collar idea. It also doesn't need to dip in the center.

Ya, IslandDream that dress from bridesave.com is pretty. I''ve gone to the other store I was counting to have ''my'' dress, and they didn''t have any that I really liked
8.gif
I''m kind of stuck as to where else to look.... This is so tough.

sunkist.. have you looked at the jasmine website? They basically will customize some of their most popular dresses so they are "temple-ready" I am guessing that is what you are going for..
You can chose your neckline, sleeve length, and choose from lots of different bodice adn skirt styles, so you can basically design your dream dress..

You can play on the website and it iwll give you sketches of what the dress will look like..

Have you thought about a lace shrug? Here''s a cute one from www.mcbridal.com that can be put over any gown. If you feel that it isn''t secure enough, your seamstress could sew it to the gown. With the shrug, you don''t have to choose a gown JUST because it has sleeves...you can choose the gown you want and add them!

And here''s a Watters with 3/4th length sleeves for Fall:

Sunkist- you are going to make a BEAUTIFUL bride!

I really like the Jim Hjelm gown that Ebree posted on this page. So classic & pretty.
