He proposed! Two days shy of our 5 year anniversary too. Since he knew I was expecting a proposal soon he went to great lengths to surprise me.
We run together in the morning about 3-4 times a week, but almost never on Friday. Well last night he mentioned he wanted to do a run this morning and I whined a bit, but said we would see how tired I was when the alarm rang. The alarm rang and he had to coax me out of bed because i did not want to run. At all. But I finally got myself up and out the door.
Well about 1/4 of a mile into the run there is a really pretty spot where you can see the city perfectly. All the lights were on in the buildings because it''s still dark. We always talk about how pretty it is and how it makes the run better to have such a pretty view. Right as we hit the very scenic part, FI! says that his shoe is untied so he stops to tie it. Commence all sorts of sweet things about me and how he loves the view and the city and me and wouldn''t it be crazy if he proposed to me right there one morning. I was facing away from him while he was talking, so I turned to tell him that he was too sweet and it would be an incredible proposal and he is on one knee with a ring! He asks me to marry him, I said of course! We finish our run and I''m super excited and then I find out he''s made reservations at our favorite super expensive restaurant tonight. So I''m on cloud 9 right now.
