Yeah...it's Friday and I'm bored waiting for the end of the day to roll around so I can go home...lol

Anyway...the point of my post:

does anyone have any tattoos?!

or

does anyone WANT a tattoo?!

if so, what do you have/want and where?
Got any pics?

9.gif

I want one, but I haven't decided on the design yet...I DO know that I want an Irezumi-style tattoo (traditional Japanese tattoo, minus it being done the traditional way because there's no way for me to go to Japan, stay there for weeks, and get one lol). I think they're beautiful and especially unique on a woman. I want it on my back.

When? When I get money

cuz it's going to be VERY expensive. LoL

Happy Friday everyone!!

I have a ladybug tattoo on my lower back, I got it 8 years ago- (my god!!), when I turned 18. I took the picture off a t-shirt I had bought (which I returned after I got it done, but I wish I had kept it), and it is extremely life-like, and looks like it''s crawling around to my right hip. I love it, but have no pictures.

I really want a dragonfly tattoo, but I don''t want to be a bug lady.

I have one on my ankle that got when I was 18. I call it my Kellog''s Sun.. I love it... his name is Joe.. he is still vibrate and colorful... And it is over 13 years old. I have another on right below my pants line on my back.. it is the chinese symbol for strength.

Everyone tole me I would hate my tatoos, But I still love them very much... Especailly my Joe...

I have a small snake on the middle of my upper back. I got it when I was 21. I don''t have a picture.

AMber I also have a ladybug tattoo...but it's not very well done and it's small, it's on my left foot, right under my ankle bone. On the same foot inner ankle, I have a sunflower (not stem just the head). They are my favorites.

I also don't have pictures.

I have a celtic knot on the back of my neck and a butterfly (I know I know. overdone - but it is really cute) on my right ankle

I would LOVE to get more - but not for a bit

no pictures right now - maybe I''ll try and post some later

Don''t have one. Don''t want one. Don''t like needles. Don''t want anything permanent anywhere on my body. I have pierced ears but at least I''m not stuck with the same earrings for the rest of my life.

Caribou, mine is about the size of a half dollar, I was trying to turn around to see what size it was, and totally pulled something.

I think I''m getting old. I still love my tattoo, and the detail in it was awesome. It didin''t hurt at all, doing it on the fatty side of my back. Now, the foot???
23.gif
Ow!!

I want a sun/moon design on my lower back, but I haven''t gotten around to it yet. Soon, hopefully. Tattoos are addicting, from what I''ve heard, just like piercings. Its gotta be the mixture of adrenaline and seratonin. Anyway, I do have my navel pierced, which I''ve had since I was 16 and I had my eyebrow done for a month or so. It was actually cute, but I got tired of it.

I think they are pretty cool when they are in more discreet places such as the small of your back etc... I never got one, too afraid of the pain.
32.gif

funny thing is I hate needles too. Didn''t really bother me all that much with the tattoo though. It''s not like they are sticking a needle all the way in you like they would for a shot - it kind of skims along the surface - or at least that''s how it feels.

and my tattoos were all gotten at points in my life that I wanted to remember. I could afford diamonds or other nice jewelry then so tattoos it was!! lol

I didn''t think it hurt that much and mine is on my spine (which is suppose to be painful) I am having laser hair removal, NOW THAT HURTS!!!! ooow....even thinking about it causes pain but hopefully it will be worth it in the end...
14.gif

They''re against my religion... but I don''t think I would get one anyway.

I have a tattoo on my lower back...a sun outline with blue ocean-like waves and tiny air bubbles. It is really cool, and I love it! A very talented guy designed it for me. I almost drowned when I was four and I was in a coma for a month. The doctors that examined me believed I was under water for at least fifteen minutes because of how much water was in my body. I fell into the 12-foot end of a pool on a hot, crowded summer day and nobody saw me until a 13-year old boy swam by with goggles on. When he saw me, he thought I was a doll, but he couldn''t grab me because I was stuck to the drain. He told his mom, and a lady overheard him and jumped in and pulled me out. The scarey thing is that I remember it all (until I went unconscious of course). It was a horrible accident. My mom almost took me off life support....sure am glad she didn''t, because I woke up two days later! My tattoo is very special to me and it reminds me of how precious life is (especially mine
1.gif
). I will take a picture of it this weekend and post it. My story was in newspapers all across the U.S., and the lady that pulled me out and gave me CPR was given a very honorary award, because I was the third person she had saved from drowning (and she wasn''t even a lifeguard.)

I believe the governor of Iowa (at the time, back in 1986) presented the award to her. I sure do wish I could meet her. Her name is Eenie and she lives in California now. That is all I know.

Ditto!!

We've done the henna tattoos before at the fair for fun which lasted about a week on us, and G kicked around the idea of getting a real one but I said NO. I knew he'd regret it later and of course after it wears/comes off he agrees he's glad to have it gone. Hehee.

I like the idea of the small of the back but I figure god when I am 55 do I really want something on the small of my back like that? All stretched out and gross from weight gain and pregnancy? Nah!

Wow, Singer, what an incredible story. Thank goodness for the boy who saw you and the lady who saved you. I'll bet the incident is stuck in the lady's mind even to this day as well. That would be great if you could find her again one day.

I do have a tattoo.
9.gif
I got it for my 30th birthday. That was nearly 12 years ago, and I still love it. I was petrified at the time, but it really was no big deal at all. Just a couple months before I got it, I had given birth to my second child, completely natural, no drugs, not even a Tylenol. Compared to that, getting a tattoo was chicken scratch.

Mine is on my right upper leg, where your body and thigh meet. It's a pink heart with a blue/purple flower and viney leaves. I could not decide on anything that had a special meaning, so I picked the design because it was pretty. It's small enough to fit under a 50 cent piece so it's pretty small. If I were doing it again today, I'd go for something larger and more dramatic.

No one except Mr. DiamondLil sees my tattoo unless I'm in a bathing suit, and frankly, I don't sun much anymore -- trying to save my skin as much as I can after years of teenage sun abuse. My parents are pretty stiff and would not understand me having a tattoo, so even at 41 years old, my parents STILL have no idea. My husband thinks I'm being silly keeping it a little secret, but even at my age, I don't want to disappoint them. Is that crazy?

Is it possible to go over an older tatto and make a bigger, prettier one and have it look good?

X-Chick - CUTIE PIE GSD! I have one, his name is Jack and he is 6 years old.

As for tattoos. I have 3, which I had done between the ages of 15 and 18.. I know, I had a fake ID! I have one around my bellybutton, one on my hip bone and one accross my lower back. They are all aged between 10-13 years. I am in the process of having 2 of them removed. The one on my bellybutton and the one on my hip bone. If you are gonna get a tattoo make sure you really really really really really really really want it. It is true what they say about a person not thinking far ahead to the permanency of these things. I have a butterfly with pixie dust around my belly button... How would that look on my pregnant belly? (I''m not pregnant, but I hope to be sometime next year after the tattoo removal is complete). The tattoo removal process is costly and just as painful as having the tattoo done.

Well this is a fun one!! I was to excited when I turned 18, I could get a tatoo! I put this together myself!! It is the "wing" from the Egypt Greatful Dead tour, on the back of my ankle is the symbol for Capricorn and in the center is a buhdist endless knot that signifies being connected to everything on the earth, then around the knot it says love your mother (earth) I must say I wish I hadn''t gotten this. It had such fine detail that it is becoming smeared looking. I have another tatoo on my back that I will try to get a pic of, impossible to do alone!

I have 4, and they''re all hidden and fairly small! I got my first one when I was 19 and the last one about 6 months ago, and haven''t regretted them so far, and I''m at the advanced age of 36! People always seem shocked that I would have one...so I don''t know what that says about me?

I don''t think I can take pics of my own back...or I could show them off. Which is odd, because no one really ever sees them, except my husband! My husband has 6, and is planning on getting another soon, but all of his are quite large...and a couple are really hideous! His friends all seem to have them!

I have one in between my shoulder blades on my upper back, which is a Canadian Maple Leaf, but sort of abstract celtic design (my mother the anti-tattoo lady insisted that I have this since I married an American and live in the States)...another on my lower back, which is a celtic dragonfly and it''s really unique and was designed for me. Then I have a sun symbol on my upper thigh, and a Japanese symbol on the side of my hip/butt which symbolizes the fufillment of friendship or something like that!

It''s such a personal choice, and not one to be entered into lightly!

Here''s mine...you can''t see all of it, but the design is pretty self explanatory. I like it, no one has to see it if I don''t want them too and it is in an area where the skin doesn''t get sun and doesn''t sag very much.

here's a better one that doesn't have the design stretched....

ETA: sorry for the racy pics, they're the only ones I have...

Thank you! I actually had a GSD named Jack, too, he was my first. But I went out of town one weekend and he stayed at my aunt and uncle''s "farm." And decided he wanted to stay. Of course, he does have 4 acres to run around on, a pond to swin in, three labs to play with, and 3 amazing little boys to love.

rainbow, I love your tattoo! You know, this thread has reminded me how much I really want one...I might even decide to finally get it done soon.

~~I have three pink hearts on my lower right hip, and I am getting another tattoo this spring of a cross with "God is Love" written below (on the back of my neck)... no pics though!!

I have 3. The first is a butterfly on my upper right hip area. I got it after my divorce from my abusive controling husband signifying that my ''A$$'' was Free of him.
9.gif

The second is an Egyption Anc on my shoulder signifying eternal life which my daughters name also means.

The third is the Japanese symbol for Butterfly. Again, the freedom thing.

Oh, I would love to see yours. I really want to get a butterfly tattoo and everytime we go the Village (NYC) we stop by the tattoo parlors and look for tattoos.

I can''t decide if I want an all black one or a colored one and where I would want it. I also want a heart and a rose on my ankle, but again, still have not fully decided on what I want!

I have one on the outside of my ankle....its a dolphin jumping thru a wave of water, with my husband''s name underneath it. I do really love it, but I would not get another one. It hurt like hexx!!!!
