Good morning, I have been a member of this forum since 12/06 (wow cant beleive it has been that long) and I just want to say thank you to all you very knowledgable people. I have learned more about diamonds on here then I thought was possible. I want to share a little about me and my never ending jewelry quest, I hope you dont mind. I will be married 25 years next May and I figured for my 25th I deserve something special, so I have decided to upgrade my wedding band, I would love a new set, but money does not allow. I have a princess solitare, my husband bought it for me 5 years ago, while I would love to get a RB I dont have the funds to change it and my husband spent hours looking for this diamond (my sister was with him and she told me how much thought he put into this purchase). I currently have a .25 shared prong round band, I love the style, but the diamonds are ugly, it came from a B&M store! Since I have been on here I have seen many beautiful rings and styles and I now feel that I can get a beautiful band with well cut diamonds that will compliment my ER, in the past I would have went to a Mall store as I do have one of those dreaded credit card at one, but, I now know that I can go to a small family jewelers and get a really great ring, I know it would be cheaper on the internet, but due to my lack of funds I cannot do the internet thing. So within the next 6 months I will be on the quest for a beautiful wedding band, my sister deals with a small family jeweler, so that is where I will go, I have decided that I will get a channel set because it will not damage my prongs (my shared prong is eating at my prongs), and it would be low maintance, I think I would like milgrain edges and I want to make sure that the diamonds are as good quality as my solitare (at least by my standards it is not a bad diamond). So in closing I once again say thank you pricescopers, for sharing you knowledge it will help me to make a knowledgable purchase.
