After reading this thread, I fell in love with five stones! Here’s my new David Klass. I went with cushion cut stones because I wanted a solid row of bling! The stones are a little bigger than I initially planned, but trying to source matching cushions was challenging. And I wanted mined H&A stones which was even more difficult. Now I have full finger coverage - no room for DSS (literally)… please excuse my nails, I am in desperate need of a manicure.
Here are the specs - 3.2cts total (approx 5mm stones), G/H color, VS2-VVS1 set in a DK platinum trellis. All brilliant cut square cushions.
Gorgeous! Could you share ALL the stats on this, pls, @volvo321 - including finger size. It seems slightly tapered? How lovely! Is it your engagement ring?
Absolutely! Size 4.5 finger, five stone old mine cut diamonds, G colored and approx 1.35 total carat weight, according to an appraisal. It is my engagement ring! I do love the uniqueness and old cut stones!
Well. All I can say is - DELICIOUS! What a gorgeous engagement ring! I always wanted either a 5 stone or a diamond eternity for my engagement ring. Ended up going a completely different direction, but this design as an e-ring will always have my heart - as I suspect this will also always have yours!
Did you have this made or did you buy it already completed? I'm particularly interested in the taper - ie the size of the individual stones.
Getting G colored old cuts is such a luxury. After all these years, you've *really* made me rethink my direction! I used to have a 7 stone ring - which I loved - but it was a much more modern iteration.
Anyway, thank you so much for sharing. Any more information would be a bonus - but, either way - it's lovely to have this beauty here on PS.
So many great 5 stones here. I've been thinking of getting one as an anniversary gift for my wife.
Not to hijack thread has anyone gone the costco route? I saw 1 person with the 2ctw and looked pretty nice.
HI there! That is a perfect anniversary gift and you are very thoughtful.
I think there is a member here with a Costco five stone that does look beautiful. For the price and peace of mind however, I would highly recommend speaking with Yekutiel at ID Jewelry. He just made me my anniversary 5 stone in December and totally exceeded expectations and price. (Basically saved thousands on the same Item over what you’d pay in a brick & mortar store and supplied us with better quality diamonds).
I trust him completely and say that you are a pricescope member when you call.
You can probably either match the Costco ring or get something bigger for your budget.
Happy shopping!
This is my 5-stone:
2.63 tcw
F /SI1
.50+pointers
white gold
This ring is a total sparkle bomb and people stop me to compliment it all the time.
Gorgeous!
Inquiring minds want to know the deets!
A LONG time lurker here. And when I say long time, I mean a decade of spying and researching through Pricescope. Married at 21 and have a beautiful princess solitaire. After a few years though, I started to get DSS, especially after my husband's cousin got engaged with a huge cushion cut halo. So with my ring envy, I started researching and for a long time, I thought I would just get a new engagement ring as an upgrade for our 10 year. Even with ring envy, I couldn't bear to trade in my original ring for obvious sentimental reasons. Well, 5 kids later and a lot of living in between, the upgrade didn't happen at our 10 year. And with time and a bit of maturity, I fell in love with my original ring again and decided on eternity ring stacks.
Still, I am obviously not an impulsive shopper and did my due diligence in research in comfort, sizing, finger coverage, in-store try-ons, etc. I decided on two rings: a 5 stone round cut 1.5 ct ring to wear with my e-ring or right hand and an Undecided emerald and round cut eternity by Stephanie Gottlieb. The 5 stone will represent my 5 children and be comfortable for everyday wear and the Undecided eterntiy will be the big present for our 15 year anniversary next year. We finally got to a comfortable place with our babies and finances, and my sweet husband and I pulled the trigger on a the 5 stone from ID Jewelry and I'm sooooo excited to post this and say it will be arriving tomorrow or Tuesday. I can not wait to share with you guys! Thank you for being such a lovely place for jewelry lovers to come to!
*bump* definitely going to go through all 18 pages of this thread (again) but want to see if anyone else wants to share how they stack their five stone (especially if you are stacking with a thinner band compared to your five stone).
I’m debating whether I need to size my ring down slightly or just buy another thinner band to stack now and keep it more secure. I’m obviously leaning towards getting another band (cause why not?!) but it’s hard for me to rush into decisions and I thought I wouldn’t need to get another band right away.
I got the ring a bit loose so I can wear on both hands + leaving breathing room to stack but its definitely scary loose on my left ring finger and even a tad loose on my right.
My five stone is normally a right hand ring but since my engagement ring is being reset at David Klass right now I am wearing my five stone on my left with some bands, so happy to share. Mine is loose also and I really need to get it resized so right now I have a Band-Aid on it. I tried to use ring sizers but the shank is kind of thin in the back and they are not staying on well
Warning: I take a ridiculous amount of pictures
Stacked with both bands “til death” is 4mm
With just the 1mm band (and my sheep pajamas)

Please give us the specs on your ring. I love the proportions!
thank you!!!! I'm excited about your rose gold project, my husband's wedding band was made by David Klass in rose gold. I didn't comment on your thread because others are WAY more knowledgeable, but DK's rose gold was beautiful.
For my ring, the sides are estimated at 1/2 carat each G OEC's, the center is my grandmother's 1 carat transitional that I believe was estimated at H/I color. I tell a ridiculous long story about it here if you want to kill some time LOL:

@RMOO i plan to size mine so I can wear it on either hand. In my case my fingers are close enough to the same size I can just wear it on either. Have you considered stacking it with a wb when you wear it on your smaller left ring finger? I personally love that look.
