The 7+ carat ring thread.

On behalf of @Phoenix (sadly I am not the friend with the 20ct ring - or the amazing wrist stacks)!

20 cts? Holy moly! o_O

We need to start a thread titled "Show Me Your Diamonds Bigger than Ring Pops"

Does she have to be escorted by an armed guard when she goes out?

Oh honey, you are NOT under equipped :D, LOL. Would be hard to pretend not to notice your fabulous collection!

+1

NOT mine, but I did try on this 10ct+ emerald cut at Sothebys

My mom had a 10 carat emerald never wore is ended up with 6 and then the one I wear 3.66 she was a practical woman

You didn't!! lolol:lol:

Oh, and several years ago I got to try an ELEVEN carat emerald cut.

Let me just say, size looks different on a step cut. Or I have Diamond Dysmorphic Disorder or something. Because these all look perfectly reasonably sized to me.

We still did no certify it GIA but this should be solved in the next months, and we are really curious about the result!IMG_2199.jpegIMG_2190.jpegf9c9eb0a-ade4-4ad5-8d23-740f8e7b15a6.jpegIMG_9552.jpegIMGP5439.jpeg

Oh Goodness! I just love those Emerald cuts Tonks!! I think I could pull one of those off no problem!! :kiss2:

Finally found the right spacer to prevent my e-ring from being eaten by my band ring. Both rings have suffered quite a bit from the permanent contact. Now they are all freshly refurbished and should have a long life ahead of them.

@Bepsi please do keep us updated on the GIA result - I’m dying to know :geek2:

Also, if I may ask, what is your plan for the stone? Saw that you posted about it way back in 2016!

Hand shots!!!!

I was offerred an amazing deal on this 7ish (7.75 I think) carat GIA fancy yellow. The original owner upgraded to almost double in size. I was tempted but it was not the right ring at the right time.

Also here is a 7 carat Ashoka that I tried on for fun even though it was miles away from my budget.

Honestly, also my dream emerald if I were ever to get a second ring! The price was insane. I can’t remember it , but whoooooo boy it was nuts.

One thing I was surprised by was that the stone tilted this way and that on my hand, leaving it looking crooked. Doesn’t bother me in a round b/c you can’t tell. It was noticeable with the straight sides of an emerald, though, and it made me wonder. Would it be something I got used to or something that increasingly bothered? Honestly not sure.
