Pretty sure, we are trying really hard to find stones that will at least compliment my center (hard to match). Haven''t purchased any yet, I''m hoping today is the day, but I did get a quote on the ring! I''m trying my VERY hardest to be patient, especially after some of the recent threads!!

Are you having trouble with getting them in focus, or getting the camera lined up straight enough to catch them? I''ll try to help ya.

Hi, Ellen. I guess it is getting them in focus. I am using the macro mode and trying to hold the camera still, but still no luck...most of the photos come out way blurry if I get up close.

Ellen, that bottom pic of yours with the lit up arrows is one of my all time favs!

Hi, Ellen. I guess it is getting them in focus. I am using the macro mode and trying to hold the camera still, but still no luck...most of the photos come out way blurry if I get up close.

I always set mine up so I can use the shutter delay, usually by putting something under the camera or the item I''m photographing to get the heights right. This means I''m not jiggling the camera when the photo gets taken. I haven''t taken a clear macro shot if I''ve been holding the camera. If you can get the camera to focus it should be in focus when the shutter opens after the delay. Sometimes you are further away than you would like but then you can crop it down if you are in focus. HTH :)

great thread ellen!

lynn, dj, it''s been awhile since i''ve seen your beauties!

gets me everytime!

Adding to Pieface. You could also try putting the ring on a table, then put the camera on the table and try that. That''s a lot easier in making the camera stay still. Also works on the floor.

If I can, I''ll prop my elbows on my knees, or something else, to help steady. Also hold the camera with both hands. Sometimes I hold my right hand in the position to take the pic, and I make an L shape out of my left thumb and first finger, and hold the left side of the camera like that, pulling top of finger down on top of camera (with left elbow on something steady if available) to help steady it.

As far as macro, you don''t have to be right on top of the ring, just get it to where it says it''s focused.

Just experiment, a bunch, you''ll get it!!

Thanks Dee!

LOL Ellen. I had a great shot of arrows that I was going to post but noticed my close-up filter made my diamond look like it had a flaws and a dark speck so I decided there was no way I am going to post that picture on PS.
