I knit and do lots of party type decor. Here are a few examples.. Made this banner for a birthday party and this poncho last year….
@Arcadian I would love to see an update on the two French jackets (Chanel like) that you were working on. Pictures would be great!
My latest sewing involved cutting my weighted blanket in half (it was too heavy) and finishing it with bias tape. Not very exciting but then again most of my sewing isn't.
I used to love knitting and made all sorts of baby clothes for my own and friends children. A few blankets too. My daughters favourite toy is “Bun Bun” who I made when I was pregnant. Unfortunately I have the beginnings of arthritis in my fingers and my right forefinger is the worst because if all the knitting. It’s too uncomfortable for me to knit now.
I do like to do arts and crafts with the kids though. And we did a lot during lock down.
WOW!!!! This guy and @Neptune win best dressed in PS!Finished his shirt for Christmas (he loves it!)
Liberty London Tana Lawn Material from their 2021 season. It was deadstocked so I paid 21.00/yard for it and used 2 yards. Liberty London can be pretty pricey stuff, so I was happy to had gotten this for the price.
I used vintage mother of pearl buttons. They're super gorgeous with this shirt.
Anyway he loves it.
yes he loves it! has worn it and it fits super well! I told him to smile on the inside because ..well... we let him do just that.

@Arcadian your work is breathtaking!
@Arcadian, You can forget about upping your game. You have already achieved the pinnacle! It‘s so much fun seeing your latest creation.

One that I forgot! I cut this dress out but um... well...its a bit big.
Its a size 16 , which SHOULD have fit me. (pattern sizing is closure to couture sizing and no where near ready to wear sizing) Based on the amount of ease in this pattern, I really should have just cut a 14, but I thought it might to be too close fitting in the arms. yeah should have just did a 14.
This ponte knit is one I've had a while but never used. I don't know why...stupidity I guess because it feels heavenly.
My phone is copper (Rose Gold) so you're seeing that reflecting in all these pictures....lol
Its got an invisible zipper, which was pretty easy to put in. I also had to hand make those back button loops (that was a pain in the ass frankly). Loops are made with silk buttonhole thread and elastic. then handstitched in place. The buttons are actually discontinued swarovski jean buttons, but they work in this thicker fabric without being droopy.
I overlocked each piece prior to sewing it together so my inside looked tidy.
Almost all of the outter seamlines had to be top stitched, which meant that all my intersections had to be dead on. I managed that for the most part. I didn't do under the arm though I could have. it was a painful experience just thinking of doing it...lol
However I had no choice really when I inserted the sleeve. I did have to go under the arm (it was easy enough though)
Your sewing is excellent @Arcadian ! Wish I had that kind of skill!
On the hand-sewing...some of the blogs I read about making a jacket said they thought the hand-sewing part was relaxing.
For me, hand-sewing can be relaxing until I realize its not coming out right and have to start over! Then it becomes a PITA and
I just want it done!
Your so talented, I wish I could sew. It's lovey and just my size, lol.
Those are so cool! I love your christmas tree btw, and yes this take plenty of talent to do right! don't sell yourself short!
