Hey everybody

I came on the forums a few months ago while I was searching everywhere for ideas for a ring. In the end, I picked several designs I liked and showed them to my (then) girlfriend in a PowerPoint presentation. When she saw griffithk's photos, she said "oh, Danny, that ring's too beautiful for me" and it took her breath away.

Well, surprise, surprise, I adapted the design and added some personal touches. I hope you like it! She did!

(a.k.a. our "the moment... in 10 seconds or less!" version

Danny proposed on September 8th. He took me flying! He wore his pilot dress shirt and tie, and I wore a pretty blue dress. It was a cloudy morning but it cleared up beautifully. We flew in a little plane through the mountains, over Canmore. Wow. What a perpective! He took me over my house and asked me what I saw. There on the road were huge 3-4 foot letters, WUMMS? "What do you think it means?", he asked. "Will You Marry Me Shelley!!!" I screamed. He handed me an open box and I screamed and laughed some more. He leaned over to kiss me with his hands on the controls. Then he reminded me that it was a question. "YES!" He did a bunch of crazy turns that kept me screaming and stomping my feet on the floor of the plane...

It's called a hug & kiss or hugs & kisses style, according to a local B&M jeweller, although I call it an embrace ring. It is certainly the most beautiful design I have ever seen!


The center is an AGS cert 0.505 ct Round Brilliant, excellent polish & symmetry, Colour F, Clarity SI1. I highly recommend this colour - she was impressed! Also, I don't see anything at all wrong with SI1 - it looks flawless to me. Definitely the Ideal Scope images sold me. We are both very happy about my decision to choose a center diamond, especially this colourless one. All in all, I recommend this combination as it really works in a variety of lighting conditions and is overall extremely aesthetically pleasing. The ring is platinum with custom engraving of our names and a Canadian Air Force Roundel on the bottom outside.

As I say in my story, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Whiteflash for the e-ring and XETrade if you need to exchange currencies and transfer funds internationally.
