I met my husband while working at a museum when we were in college. I turned him down the first time he asked me out. Two year later he tried again, and I said yes. He proposed to me at the same place in the museum where he asked me out the second time. I''m sure the visitors that day wondered why in the world a guy would propose in front of a bald eagle display on the 3rd floor! When my husband and I got engaged, we were starving college students about to embark on the life of starving graduate student/teacher 1500 miles away from all family and friends. So, we didn''t have much money to spend on an engagement ring. My original diamond was 1/10th carat in an illusion setting. Yes, it was small, but it was still special. Fast forward 10 years later....he finished graduate school and got a job. For our 10th anniversary he wanted to upgrade the diamond in my ring. We kept the original ring, but replaced the 1/10th carat with a 0.38 carat D color VS1 diamond.
Hi everyone:
I am so sorry it took so long to post pictures of my upgrade. My photos were horrible before but I now have a camera with Micro mode so they might come out half-way decent.
It''s been awhile but I''m back on the forum learning more and enjoying it just as much as before. Just love this place and all the nice people and all the excellent taste in jewelry that makes me drool!
I just want to officially thank the forum members for all the help they have given me in my search so long ago. I am much more at ease with purchasing from the Internet particularly some of the great vendors I enjoyed working with. Although I bought from WF, GOG and James Allen were wonderful to deal with and I wouldn''t hesitate to steer someone to their web stores.
Believe it or not, I''m actually thinking of upgrading. I always thought the center stone too small for my size 8 finger and my huge hands.
You''ll get the idea in the photos, I have ugly hands
. I''ll be changing the setting because I settled on that and haven''t been happy with it. That explains my return after a long hiatus.
Now lets see if this works...I''ll try the first one as a test...
