Update on the housing situation...

FI and I worked on our budget and realized we can afford a nicer place, and still save about 1000/month. That''d give us about 12,000 by the end of next year for a house. We ended up renting the new place! So now we each have our own office/bedroom type area that we can decorate as we see fit, and LAUNDRY!!

I''m so excited for a laundry room. You don''t even know!!

We are moving September 12. Anyone wanna help? You fly yourself out here, and we''ll provide... beer and pizza.

Yoo hoo LP! I have a question for you!

This weekend I have ONE FABULOUS DAY to try out some of the SB area wineries. Right now we have a hotel room in Santa Maria and plan on waking up bright and early on Sunday morning to drive back down to LAX for our flight and hit up 4 or so wineries on the way! Can you make some recommendations? I was thinking we would do Foxen Canyon wine trail places but I can be swayed a different direction. We can change our hotel res if need be.

Yay, Elle!!!! So happy for you guys. I totally ADORE having my own closet/office/bathroom in our apt. I was an only child and need spaaaaace. In fact, I am sitting in the middle of my bright yellow office as I type

. I decorated DH''s bathroom and mine, but I gave him the "manlier" one for sure. His is brown and blue and mine is big zinnia print with yellow orange, blue and red.

Everyone have a good weekend? DH and I got a new board game that I am geeking out over.

Oh, and we started watching Lost. OMG Netflix has 4 seasons streaming and there are like a million episodes! I am way into it, but it will be a huge time suck!!!

We also picked wedding cupcake flavors! Choc w/PB buttercream, Choc w/chili powder, Chai tea, and white choc raspberry. The tasting was rough

Freke---what kind of buttercream is the lovely airy non-heavy one? I know you were talking about this in some thread around here. We adore our cupcake lady bc her icing is the sh!t, not greasy and overly sweet but juuuuust right.

Yes, I''m not an only child, but I''m an only girl child and always had my own room and bathroom, and I miss it terribly.

Weekend was good. We saw Inglourious Basterds. Mixed feelings... if anyone saw it, please tell me if you sensed anti-war, anti-american sentiments as I did?

I have not seen Lost yet. Its on my list of series to watch. We are about to start watching True Blood because I''ve heard awesome things about it.

Yes, I totally want to see True Blood as well, since so many people talk about it. That is next after Lost I think.

The Netflix streaming thing is fanfreakingtastic. Seriously awesome.

Honestly, it''s the closet that makes me happiest about having multiple bedrooms. Our apt is set up weird, and so the Master is my office, with the walk-in closet. DH has a bigger bathroom, but we could NOT share a closet. No way, no how.

Ckrickett, I think we are 8 or 9 eps in to season 1. I am totally in love with it!!!

Interesting you mention this. I have a really hard time just watching TV. I like to be on the comp or something also, but I have noticed that I have to REALLY pay attention to Lost, which is a serious challenge! Probably good for me, though! We tried to play our new game and watch, but the game goes soooo slow when we do.

Please tell me SOME of this crazy mystery gets cleared up soon. Please.

I saw Inglorious Basterds. I actually liked it, but there definitely was (more than) a touch of anti-American sentiment. But, uh...I'm probably the wrong person to talk to about that since I'm not the most pro-America, rah rah rah kind of girl. Interesting way to re-write history, though.

Though I will say, when the one guy gave himself away, BF and I were all over it! We both were sitting there saying, "Uh-ohhhhhhh...." and making the right signal with our hands.

I didn''t even catch that! I didnt understand it until she was explaining it later.

I "LOL"ed that the spy chick said "I know this is a silly question, but do ANY of you Americans know any other language?"

I really enjoyed Shoshana''s story. That was really powerful to me. The IB''s just made me feel bad for the Nazis (Weird, right? Who expects to feel bad for them?) and they made me feel embarassed for Americans. I really did wonder if that was the point. It turned the American viewpoint upside down and made you look from another perspective.

The ending sucked. It was a "punch-out ending" as my FI likes to say, and totally predictable.

I hated the gore in the movie.

The thing was, almost every single thing in that movie would have happened exactly the same way if you took the IBs out. Actually, it probably would have gone more smoothly (and worked out better for Shosana) without them. They were just there to be made fun of. ("Well, I speak a little I-talian...")

I would want it to be Friday....but my mom is moving this weekend. Not. Fun. My mom is a drama queen and stress will run rampant.

The cupcake lady has a tower she is lending us, and she is making a mini cake for the top tier that we can cut. I seriously love her.

Speaking of moving...I posted this a few pages back but nobody responded (

) but I think we're planning on moving the weekend before the wedding. Are we nuts? Likely. Especially because FI will be working both days. Aieeee yes, nuts. But we're tired of being where we are and rent has gone down a lot in the last 2 years, so we could get a bigger, nicer, newer place for $150/month less than we're paying now.

Congrats Elle on the new digs, it'll be nice to have the extra space. And a laundry room!

SunnyD, yes you are nuts! But, it can be done. DH and I moved last time over a few week days, in the evenings. It was nuts, but worth it. Just make SURE everything you need for the wedding is out where you can get it.

school starts wednesday! which means everyone is back in town

and i will go and get me a new monitor by the end of the week so i can have visible internet again. either that or a usb port is being embedded in me. that''d be much more useful and cooler than the monitor, but i think i''ll just go the cheap route and get the monitor.

ooo new WoW race? what''s the new dance? someday i will have WoW... however if i had it already i would''ve been far worse off witht his whole invisible internet business.

just one more weekend of walmart! and this is my last week of working 7 days a week! and it''s my last semester (no matter what anyone says, i will take the degree and run. far far away.)

achievements for the past weekend: had correct color of wine with dinner and prooved to my friend that she does in fact like coffee if it does not taste like coffee.
