Hahaha. I love it. BF always gets all concerned when he hears about an earthquake in CA (since a lot of my family is out there). At least...he did get concerned until my mom and I teased him a little bit about getting all worried about an itty bitty 5-pointer. He's learned that nothing below a 7 really gets our attention.Date: 10/29/2009 11:04:15 AM

Hehehe!!! Our last major earthquake was in 2000(1?) and it was a 6.8 or something. Big. I was in class and the ground started moving and my quiet, cute, non-swearing english teacher goes 'OH SH*T!! Get under your desks!' It was hilarious!!!Date: 10/29/2009 9:26:04 AM

Freke, I'm sorry, hun. *hugs*
Squirrly - earthquakes are best experienced from inside an interior doorway. Brace your back and legs against one side, and your hands on the opposite side. If there is no doorway near, you want to be under a solid piece of furniture, like a solid dining room table. Hold on to the leg of the table with one arm (or desk or whatever) pull your knees under your chest, tuck your head to your knees, and cover your neck with one arm. (Wow, apparently I remember a lot from earthquake drills at school.)
Freke - I'm so sorry hun.Big hugs.
ETA: I think he would have been okay with the teasing. I think it was the jostling him or pushing him lighting and squealing "Five pointer!" that got to him.
