The LIW Small Talk Thread

well the pink is what I''d put them with because it''s the only handbag that''s not brown or black that I own.
I love the winter white and sailor paint idea!

HH - Thanks again for your support. That''s it, I''m going to change my profile to engaged and go all nuts!

TP - You guys are making me feel all empowered and stuff!

Elle - Yes I have tiny feet. However, my hands are as big as Shaq''s.

Freke - Those would look sooooo cute with the sailor pants! Where did you get them?

Sorry, I wasn''t sure if your statement was in reference to another thread. I don''t think you''re weird at all. I don''t subscribe to social norms and expectations for the most part. I believe everyone has a right to happiness and if having a wedding, whether it''s your first or fifth, makes you happy then you should go for it. You also have Reece and your family (you FI and lil one) to take into consideration. The wedding in this case isn''t just about you and FI, it''s a symbol of melding your family together into one. It''s about FI becoming Reece''s stepdad/dad formally. You seem level-headed and with it enough to know what''s over the top or tacky (like big princess dress and carriages) for an event like this, but no, I don''t think having a traditional wedding for your second marriage is out of line.
Thanks HH, I think I still have some left over issues from the judgemental circle of friends I had when I was married the first time and for some reason they all still feel the need to talk trash about me so I know me getting re-married is totally going to fuel the fire. I''m actually right where I''ve always wanted to be in life and I only surround myself w/ positive people and positive situations. I shouldn''t worry about it the way I do. The funny thing is that the only person that should have been judged is my ex. I didn''t have an affair, I didn''t treat him bad, I held up my end of the bargain and he didn''t. However because I was the moving party (I left his dumbass) I''m the bad guy. So because I didn''t want to raise my daughter in a home w/ an abusive man I''m apparently a raging beyoch. Whatever. The worst is that my exes best friend is my cousin. My blood cousin who I totally grew up w/ and we were very close. He and his wife have both not spoken to me for over 2 years. They never once called to see if I was ok, nothing. It''s just an awkard situation because I know it will get turned around into me flaunting my engagement and blah blah blah. I have sworn to a drama free life.

Wow that felt good to get that out.

This is really $hitty and I''m sorry you had to go through it all. Some people will never ''get it'' and you shouldn''t feel guilty about writing them out of your life. And your SHOULD flaunt your engagement! You''ve met the man of your dreams who adores you and your daughter. If they can''t be happy for you then F-them! And as for the a$$hat you married, there''s a special place in hell for men like that. This is such a happy time for you all, don''t let a few people ruin it for you. No one says you have to have them in your life, even if they are related to you.
cheers to that!

Ha! I love it! A shoe room....

So do you plan to wear those at all any time soon??
If the opportunity arises. I have like 50 other pairs I haven''t worn yet, so we''ll see. FI says when we move, I have to have worn each pair of shoes at least once, other wise they don''t get to go for the trip.

However, he never did qualify the "wearing" of the shoe...

for those who might possibly not know what i''m talking about (or who love this thing anyway)

SHOES!!!

I wear the same size as you. Whichever ones don''t make the cut you can send my way. I''ll hang onto them (possibly take them for a test run or two) and then slowly send them back when he''s not looking.

HAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!! PERFECT!!!!

FI will never know what hit him. "OMG your shoe collection seems to have tripled since we moved! It''s only been six months!"

I wish I had half the fashion knowledge as Freke and the other ladies on this list.

Freke -- Love the shoes.

Thanks TP!

And I only know shoes...the rest I''m a bit clueless on...

well it''s a shoe skit if that counts

Thanks but I too know very little. I''m lucky if I can get out of the house with clothes on, let alone clothes that match. I do know, however, that when wearing a particularly gorgeous accessory like those shoes one should tone down the rest of their outfit to highlight the accessory.

WL - eff those biotches! You are happy and that''s all that matters. Block ''em! Block the biotches!!

Freke those are some hot shoes. But all your shoes are pretty hot so what else is new...

Lol sunny. I think (when I counted the other day) that almost half of my shoes are at least 3 inch heels. I counted one pair that''s about 2 inches tall as being flats. Yeesh...

hehehe wouldn''t that be a bit drafty this time of year?

I am 5'2! I can wear 6 inch stripper heels (which I do own--lucite and everything) and still not be tall! You've got 8 inches on me woman! I'd still be shorter than you (BAREFOOT!) in my stripper heels!

(Great, now that I mentioned stripper heels, DancingFire is going to invade Small Talk...)

I am AWFUL at shoes. I''ve just got a few pairs at home and really need to get new ones. (the pair I wear for snow or walking or working in the garden or camping or pretty much anything my other pair won''t work for is the same pair I bought for 9th grade marching band -- 1999? -- and have been wearing ever since)

I get into the store and just don''t know where to start.

Hahaha. He seems to sniff out that stuff. He''s kind of like "The Todd" on Scrubs.

He''ll want leg shots.
