Just wanted to pipe in and say that I'm a size 5.75 and am 5'1'. I definitely feel like my hands are humongous compared to most PSers.

And vc, you're from Michigan? That's where my boyfriend is from...and where I'll be visiting in the fabulously warm and sunny month of...February!

I'm originally from NW Ohio, but I call Ann Arbor, Michigan (where I went to school...hence the 'UM' in my screenname) my hometown because that's where I feel most at home when I'm not at my current home in the Washington, DC suburbs! And Michigan in February, while cold, can be beautiful, too! Where in Michigan will you be?

I'll be in Detroit. I've only been to Michigan one other time. I went to U of M for a graduate school recruitment weekend near the end of March. I didn't think much of it because I was going to college in Indiana. Well, that was the coldest experience of my life. I'd go outside and say, "Hey, I can handle this." A minute or two later I'd hustle in to the nearest shop to try and warm up. And then repeat, many times. I felt as though my bones would shatter if I hit them against something.

Anyway, the weekend after that I did a recruitment weekend in North Carolina. We had iced tea on the front porch of the department's building. And where did I decide to go to school? Umm, not Michigan! And it's definitely a far cry from New Orleans, where I now live. But D.C. is such a cool area. Do you actually prefer Ann Arbor, or did it just have a better sense of community for you?

ETA: Don't have time to catch up on the 14 pages of small talk since my last post, so I'll just have to catch up later! Thanks for the welcome ladies!

mincemeat is a traditional English Christmas dessert. As is Christmas pudding.

I''d do the same types of pie you see for Thanksgiving-pumpkin, pecan, apple, etc. You could also do bread pudding.
Pecan could do.... me likey.
i suppose it should come at no surprise; that''s my favorite pie.

springerlies, pfefferneusse, and REAL eggnog (the kind with 3 yummy alcohols in it)!

I bet you''re on the IRS''s hit list. Kidding!

Starbucks is calling my name!
31.gif
Do you dream about coffee, WL?
Yes. Lately I''ve been dreaming that I''m at my wedding and nothing is planned and it''s all thrown together and I''m a wreck.
Ugh I friggin hated those dreams!!! And before I got engaged, it was the ''OMFG my ring is ugly/broken/lost/herpes infected'' dreams.
OMG Elle, I just laughed out loud really hard and mean biznatch glared at me!
I will fight her. And I will stab her with my e-ring.
i''m trying to decide if that''d be more of a physical attack with it being ''broken'' or if it''d be more biological due to ''herpes''.

however i think the combo wins.
Bizn "Help! I''ve just been stabbed with the ugly lost broken herpes ring!"

i''m pretty sure that''s fatal, and possibly illegal even in california. do it.

HDG - Ewww funerals are no fun. You should stay home and drink coffee and eat cookie dough.
I''ve accidentally knocked J in the face with my ring a few times, and it hurts! He is never pleased when that happens.

Mmmmm.... cookie dough....
you gave his face herpes with your lost broken ugly herpes ring?!

really this whole trying to catch up when running on lack of sleep and coffee proabably isn''t the best, but it''s amusing to me anyway. and now i want cookiedough

Anyone have a super nice ipod dock they want to plug? I have a little one that I use in my kitchen but I want like a really nice one that I could potentially use at my reception...
I''m no help on this one...I don''t even own an iPod...
I do, but I only use it when I fly. Thats MAYBE 3-4 times a year. Whoops.

I bought it to work out with, but, I''m far too lazy for that!

What a GLORIOUS world we live in when you can just run to the store and buy a tube of cookie dough.
Oh man. I''m dreading the number of flights this year...and the cost! (Anticipating an engagement in March/April. Will have to fly to Kansas City, MO several times over the summer to plan wedding. Not to mention at least one, if not several weddings I have to fly to, plus a trip to Ann Arbor for football...UGH, the money!)

OOOO! Officemate just gave me a coupon for Tollhouse yesterday!!! Cookie dough in a tube, here I come!!!

''you could comment ''meh.'' and get 30 comments, 10 thumbs up, and a friend invite''

Can you please change your status to ''meh'' so we can comment and give you thumbs up??
Do it! I''ll comment like 10 times and give a thumbs up.

I was planning to send to you all bia-cookies via Postal Service for Christmas - but now that surprise is ruined! thanks

DC is wonderful, and I feel really at home here, but since *everyone* is a transplant from somewhere, I need to give them a ''hometown'', lol. Ann Arbor definitely just feels like more of "my" town. It''s where I had some of the best experiences of my life...I was definitely one of those people for whom high school was hell and college was AMAZING. So I identify more with Ann Arbor than anywhere else I grew up.

PS: Sorry we were so chatty yesterday!!!

In all honesty, I was a HUGE Boilermaker fan the day y''all beat OSU. But seriously...that drum has GOT to go. When I was in college, I nearly made it so that one of the guys that drags it around wasn''t gonna be able to have babies anymore...but he got in my way while we were doing pregame...so it was his fault.

Oh, Purdue?!? Well, you seem okay, even though you went there. I, however, went to IU! GO HOOSIERS!!!

And I still haven't caught up on this thread, as I need to get ready to go hit some jewelry stores. Ok, I won't hit'em. I'll just visit and play nice so they let me try on all sorts of shiny things.

ETA: I screwed up the quote stuff and don't know how to fix it. So I'll bold my stuff. But now PS is being stupid and doesn't want to let me do this. AAGH!

Cold and wet here, too. FOGGY as all getout this morning.

DC is great...I *wish* I could waste time. The To-Do list for my weekends recently has been awful. I did, however, manage to watch "Love Actually" while baking a batch of Christmas Cookies and writing out A and my first set of Xmas cards together! And friends of ours had a lovely housewarming party on Saturday night, so that was fun, too! A discovered he likes scotch...as long as it''s not the cheap stuff, LOL!
