I actually did do some stuff yesterday, in between episodes.

I washed sheets/towels/clothes started the chili in the crockpot for dinner tonight, and did all of the dishes and whatnot. I was in the mood to bake but too lazy to go get stuff to do it with. Plus I need a hand mixer!

Ohhh scotch! Never tried it but it looks scary! I have not yet seen Love Actually - I should really watch that some time!

Love Actually is an awesome movie Elle, you should see it!

This weekend we didn''t do too much. My dad and SM came for a quick visit on Saturday. They brought down our dining room table and chairs which have been in storage at my dad''s house. It''s so nice to finally have a table to eat at! I made a pot roast (love my crock pot!!) and polenta for dinner with peach cobbler for dessert. Sunday DH did nothing but watch TV and I baked cookies and other goodies all day. So a pretty uneventful but relaxing weekend.

Ditto vc re: mixer. Puh-lease you can pick one of those up for $15 at Walmart. But forget the hand mixer, go for the big guns and get a Kitchen Aid! Mine is a lifesaver at Christmas!

There was only a handful of things we needed, not enough to really register for!

I''m just getting into the whole crock pot thing. I don''t cook usually - but I''m trying to learn to enjoy it. I don''t want to be that mom that doesn''t know how to cook. So far the crock pot has been fun and easy to use! Dig it!

We don''t have a big one though that you could really but a big roast in or anything. We just have the circular kind right now.

I wish I would have baked cookies this weekend!

I''ve thought about a HM registry, but I actually want to replace a lot of kitchen stuff we have...both of us have hand-me-downs from our parents, and they all are getting to the point where they need to be replaced.

HH...and leftovers? Your dinner sounds YUMMY!

A house-ish registry would have been PERFECT when we moved in together 3 years ago! After 3 years of cohabiting under our belt, we''ve eliminated ALL hand me down furniture, and kitchen stuff (with the exception of a few plates!)

Too bad you can''t have a "Cohabitation Shower" and get cool stuff then!

We still need a mixer, some nice baking sheets, more mixing bowls... but thats about it!

Get a big one when you can, ours is round, but it probably holds 7 qts. It''s big enough to do a 3lb pot roast but not HUGE...I use it for that a lot, and for beef stew and chili. I haven''t found any good chicken recipes to make with it.

I get a lot of my nicer kitchen stuff at homegoods. I just picked up some new baking sheets (Calphalon) for $10/each and I''ve gotten a lot of OXO tools there as well. Our KA was a hand me down purchase ($50) from DH''s mom when she got a new one. I love it but I couldn''t justify spending $299 before. Now that I know how useful it is I''d drop the $$$ in a heartbeat. I use it a lot, cookies, cakes, bread and mashed potatoes!

I have a Kitchen Aid - I''ve used it three times. The last time was for the cookies I recently made. If you don''t really bake, don''t get one because they take up a lot of space and they are expensivo. Mine was a gift.

Of course if you like baking, def worth it.

Elle, I couldn''t agree with you more on a "cohabitation registry"...A and I have been living in the "Nest of Naughty" as my mom likes to call it (sigh) since March and I would have loved to replace everything then! I figure we''ll get our wedding registry soon enough (Summer 2011, is looking likely!) and so I can live with the hand-me-downs (and without the KA) til then!

You just sign up for stuff for the honeymoon, flights, rooms, day trips, nice dinners, etc.

It worked out perfectly! We had tons of money to do what we wanted on the HM!
