I wanted to pick up some of his fave chocolate at Whole Foods, but he''s going to be with me while we''re getting groceries. *Sigh*

Looks like I''ll be heading over to CVS when I go to the bank to drop off the secret seed money for my wedding fund my mom gave me when I was with her over the weekend.

And A hasn''t answered any of the messages I''ve sent him in the last hour via work IM. And he wasn''t there to pick up his phone, either. Weird.

Ooooh secret money is always fun! Maybe he''s out buying you some last minute fancies?

Secret money IS fun. And I found him. He was in the work library getting reference materials.

So much for sticking around til 2. I''m cashing out, ladies. I''m so grumpy and not getting anything done at all. Time to hit the gym, burn off some holiday calories, get some happy endorphins flowing, and then head to the grocery store.

Serioulsy, this is torture. How is it supposed to FEEL like christmas if we are working?

No kidding.

Doesn''t help that I still haven''t figure out if A and I are hitting the road tomorrow night or not. We were both so happy to get back to our own beds after not being in them for 5 days that I don''t want to yank him right back out to go to a hotel.

Ugh.

AND I still have to get his stocking stuffers. No clue when I''m gonna pull that sh*t off.

I''d way rather sleep in my own bed than a hotel. My vote is stay home. Go to the drug store, get travel size items and candy. PERFECT STOCKING STUFFERS!

2.5 hours of sleep + breakfast of coffee and cookies= interesting day at work

Good morning, HH! Of course I missed you! How was your holiday?

My holiday was good. It was made better by the execs at my company calling an emergency closing on the 23rd and 24th.

NICE. Obama gave us the afternoon of the 24th off...and I was on vacay from the 18th to the 22nd. That giant snowstorm that hit the East Coast ended up working out really well: I experienced no ill-effects, but got to save 8 hours of vacation since all Federal Offices in the DC Metro were emergency closed on Monday the 21st.

Did you and hubby do your gift exchange yet? I know you said you were doing it after Xmas, right?

Yea there was a rupture in the main power line that went into our office park. That line was underground so the repair time was longer than normal. They closed at 9:30am on Wednesday for the day and told us all to take Thursday off too since that was supposed to be a 1/2 day anyway.

We''re doing our exchange after the holidays. DH found out that he wasn''t getting laid off a few weeks before Xmas, quite the opposite, he''s getting a promotion, but we decided to wait anyway. My shopping is done, his not so much. We did exchange one gift on Christmas, he got his Zune and I got some silver ball earrings from T&Co to go with the necklace and bracelet I have already. I had the earrings at one point but lost one.

After all the rain, the snow is gone! YAY! Not that I don''t like snow, but VA is incapable of plowing any streets that aren''t traversed by public busses. So all that compacted ice/snow/etc is all gone, thank goodness!

Our snow is gone, too, thank goodness! It was all gray and filthy and melting into little puddles at the corners.

We''re going out for Happy Hour on NYE and then just going home and having dinner and watching Dick Clark and popping a bottle of champagne. We went all-out last year and have dinner plans on 1/2 already, so we decided to just have this year to ourselves.

OK, so what was everyone''s favorite Christmas gift?

I did get the boots I asked for and I <3 them! The most meaningful gift though was from my mom--she gave me a beautiful star sapphire ring that her father had given her. She said that now I have my "something old" for the wedding. It is gorgeous--I''ll be making a SMTR thread once I actually get a chance to take some pictures of it.
