The LIW Small Talk Thread

If I wasn''t so annoyed by having to order the stuff, Aloette makes an amazing product too. It''s all natural. If you have a party at your house you get a ton of free stuff too!

You know Elle, it''s funny you brought up your skin today because yesterday I was commenting to FI how much better my skin felt since I''ve been drinking more water and cutting down on the dairy. I remember I used to wash my face and I could feel little bumps everywhere (clogged pores and just gunk) and now my skin feels so smooth when I wash it. I think it has a lot to do with the water and the tea...and maybe even the vitamins I''ve been taking.

If you want a gentle cleanser too, Ive been using Origins - Never a Dull Moment. It''s very mild. It smells kind of fruity but I like that it''s gentle.

Hooked another one!

Our guest from CA was impressed with our coffee. I showed him how to roast and sent him home with some green beans to try on his own.
He roasted last night (and called a few times to make sure he was doing it right) and tried some this morning.
Just got an e-mail from him--
"It''s... Delicious!"

He''ll never buy roasted beans again.

SYSTEM BREAKDOWN! Gah I hate when I actually have to work!

I''ll throw in my late two cents on face stuff. I had perfect skin until Mini and after I had her I''ve struggled BIG TIME. I''ve used everything, nutrogena, proactive, aveeno you name it. Well two weeks ago my estetician introduced me to Jan Marini products. Swear on Mini''s life my face is 1,000 times better! It''s just a cleanser and a moisturizer and the moisturizer smells like a tropical vacation. It''s spendy but apparently it should last me about 4-5 months.
What kind of skin do you have? Is it acne prone? Dry? Combo?

I''m hoping having a kid will take my crappy skin and make it better.
I have combo, sometimes sensitive, and yes acne prone skin. Plus I feel like from my acne my skin is all uneven and untouchable now. This stuff has helped a ton in just 2 weeks!
What do you mean by ''spendy''??

I''m intrigued!
The cleanser was $29 and the moisturizer was $48. I did see it for a bit cheaper on Amazon though and if it lasts as long as she says it does then really it isn''t bad. Maybe I''m just cheap but I guess now that I know how well it works I would pay double.
Yeah, that''s spendy.

I want to try it though. I wonder if they have samples...
My estetician gave me samples that she made up in little tiny tiny jar thingies. I have a facial Friday so I''ll try to con her out of a couple and I will mail them to you.

My skin HATES Origins. That was what triggered my eczema outbreak that I STILL can''t get rid of.

I have no acne right now, and havent for a couple of weeks, but I''m still dry and flaky!

You''re right - the water and less diary helps. Dairy is horrible on my skin also.

That sounds just yummy.

Are they letting you bring in your own wines or do they prefer that you use theirs?

I have to buy like a case of theirs but I don''t necessarily have to serve it. I''m going to have a few different kinds.

If that''s the case (LOL PUN intended!) then maybe you could work their wine into the centerpieces for your tables? it would be cool if they''d let you do a mix-and-match case, then you could put all different variations on the tables and use those as table names.

Tee hee, good idea HH!

We got one of these a couple of years ago and it''s so pretty! Maybe you could work it in as a centerpiece if you don''t want flowers.

I was just thinking of putting it on the table in place of a table number or something else. So you can tell people they''re at the "Merlot" or "Cabernet" tables

WF is slackin'' on me. My rings were done Friday (finally!) but haven''t shipped yet. I''m tired of being single.

I like those things Sunny. I''m not really having like assigned formal "tables". They have wine barrels that they have put a piece of glass on top of and I will have those around as cocktail tables and I''m going to put pics of us under the glass. I''m thinking some sort of small candles in the centers since they aren''t large. There is seating out on the patio (the tasting room opens up out onto the patio) then there is a "chill" area inside that has 3 leather couches and a flat screen where we are going to have the wii. I''m imagining most people will stand around the cocktail tables or mingle up at the tasting bar. The chairs from the ceremony will also be available so I''m considering putting them kind of around the outside of the room. I need to put up the pics I took from the winery so you all have a better "visual".

That''s not good Sunny! I have to send mine in to get sized and I''m really procrastinating because I know I''ll be w/o it for a couple weeks.

Hey ladies!!!!!!

So, it looks like my stupid case is nearing settlement and I won''t be as swamped/stressed as I''ve been lately (at least for a little while)!

B -- I sense birthday margaritas coming!!!!

How old are you going to be?

On the face creams issue, I have dry skin too and can''t use fancy lotions. Aveeno Ultra-Calming works best for me.
