Ditto! Seriously, I was just discussing that with SO the other day! My argument was that I'm not really an "adult" but still a "young adult"! LOL...he wasn't buying that!

Most definitely! DH and I are both Aries and I was always told that the same sign isn''t a good match. But he and I get along great. The only problem is we both have the same or similar faults, so that can be obnoxious sometimes.

What should I make for dinner tonight? I was planning on serving the white chicken chili I made over the weekend but considering the bout of heartburn I had last night from the curry, I don''t think that''s a wise decision...

Ginger-terriyaki chicken breasts. Served with white rice and maybe even some broccoli with shallots & lemon.

Awww! That''s my sister''s b-day!!
Yay! Another birthday buddy!

HH - Make my favorite cooking light recipe. Might not be good for the heartburn though but remember, tums is now your best friend!

http://find.myrecipes.com/recipes/recipefinder.dyn?action=displayRecipe&recipe_id=1173802

skip the soaking of the tortillas step though. No need. Just put them between two wet papertowels in the micro for about 30 seconds to a min. Good to go.

I''ll need a recipe for that please....

HH: What are you working with at home?

Those look YUMMY!!!! I could really go for huevos rancheros but I doubt TJ would be down with beans and tortillas since he''s low carbing it.

Bia, I have to go to the store so I''m open to anything.

I'm making portobello burgers tonight. Meat-free and very tasty! I'm making them with a salad and sweet potato fries.

eta: burgers are just portobellos (big ones) grilled on a stove-top grill or pan. Add a piece of your fav cheese at the end so it can melt. Toast whole-grain buns in the oven and add a little mayo/ketchup/dijon mixture on top (if you like that). I also include some red onion, lettuce and tomato. If hubby is low carbing, only give him half a bun. Sweet potato fries can be found in your freezer section (I get them at Traders).

Ginger-terriyaki chicken breasts. Served with white rice and maybe even some broccoli with shallots & lemon.
Ginger-terriayaki chicken breasts:

boneless skinnless breast (amount is up to you) whole or in cutlets
Big chunk of ginger, peeled and sliced thin
1 large onion, sliced
teriyaki sauce to taste (I like veri-veri teriyaki)
optional -- slices of pineapple

Put the chicken & ginger slices in a ziploc with the teriiyaki sauce. Let marinate for 20 minutes or more (an hour is good if you have time). Put onion slices in bottom of Pyrex baking dish. Add the ginger slices to the onion. Set the chicken on top and pour the liquid from the bag in as well. (you can add more teriyaki if you want or a little splash of water for liquid).
Stick in a 400 degree oven until chicken is about 130-140 degrees. Add pineapple on top of chicken if you want. Switch over to broil until chicken reaches temp.

You should wind up with moist chicken, caramalized onions & ginger, and a bit of a sauce to add over your rice if you like.

That sounds YUMMY!

it's it General Colonel Major Captain Lieutenant Sargent Private?
depends on the branch but there's a difference between enlisted (NCOs) and officers

ranks, links to other branches at bottom of page

Isn't it bad that I'm the daughter of an Army Lt. Colonel (Ret) and the wife of a Captain (out) and I don't know these things?

nah, i knew the general order of ranks (or at least what they were in the civil war) because of history class in jr. high, but until i met M and we started dating i was pretty clueless. he keeps remembering (then promptly forgetting) that he needs to ''train'' me to hold his left hand so his right arm is free to salute.

good thing i remember for him
3.gif
with one of M''s possible future life plans he could get to be a captain someday. i think the real reason he''d become an officer is so i buy him another sword.
